Premodern is a community-created Constructed format built around cards from Magic's middle era, broadly spanning Fourth Edition through Scourge and using its own ban list while retaining contemporary Magic rules.
Recognizable Premodern archetypes include The Rock, Sligh, Stiflenought, Reanimator, Landstill, and various Survival decks. The fixed card pool means new sets don't continually reshape the format.
