What are alternate win conditions in Magic?

An alternate win condition is a card that wins the game outright, or makes an opponent lose, without reducing their life total to zero through damage. Most check for a specific game state, such as a high life total, a certain number of permanents, or an empty library.

Thassa's Oracle and Laboratory Maniac win with an empty library. Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance win during the upkeep at 40 or 50 life, while Revel in Riches wins with ten Treasures, and Approach of the Second Sun wins when a second copy is cast in the same game.
