Attack triggers are abilities that fire when creatures are declared as attackers, using wording like "whenever this creature attacks" or "whenever you attack." Because they resolve before blockers are chosen, the value lands even if the attacker gets blocked or removed afterward. One catch: creatures put onto the battlefield already attacking were never declared as attackers, so they won't set these abilities off.

Isshin, Two Heavens as One is the centerpiece of many attack decks, making every attack trigger happen an additional time. Pair it with Hellrider, which pings the defending player for each attacking creature, and a wide swing can deal serious damage before combat even starts. Extra combat steps from cards like Aurelia, the Warleader give every trigger another chance to go off.
