Astartes is a creature type introduced in the Warhammer 40,000 Commander decks to represent the Space Marines of the Warhammer universe. Most Astartes are white Warriors from the Forces of the Imperium deck, while Chaos Space Marines such as Abaddon the Despoiler appear in The Ruinous Powers. Many Astartes use squad, which lets a player pay an additional cost any number of times to create that many token copies as the creature enters.
Marneus Calgar draws a card whenever one or more tokens enter under your control and can create two Astartes Warrior tokens on demand, turning every squad copy into card advantage. Each copy of Ultramarines Honour Guard gives your other creatures +1/+1, so squad lets the bonus stack quickly.
