Scry lets you look at a specified number of cards from the top of your library, put any number on the bottom, and leave the rest on top in any order. It improves card quality without directly drawing additional cards.
Elrond, Master of Healing turns repeated scrying into +1/+1 counters, while Galadriel of Lothlórien supplies additional rewards whenever you scry. Dedicated decks can turn simple card selection into a full engine, especially with Elminster at the helm.
