What are Ninjas in Magic?

Ninjas are a creature type traditionally associated with blue and black, evasive attackers, and generating value through combat damage. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles greatly expanded the type into other colors while introducing sneak, a new mechanic that echoes the surprise-attacker gameplay of ninjutsu.

Leonardo, Leader in Blue uses sneak to enter combat unexpectedly and strengthen your attackers, while Super Shredder grows whenever another permanent leaves the battlefield. The set also added numerous Ninja Turtles, Foot Clan members, and other Ninjas to pair with older staples such as Fallen Shinobi and Higure, the Still Wind.
