What is Aikido in Magic?

Aikido is a Commander strategy that turns an opponent's own attacks, spells, and resources against them. Instead of building a strong board of its own, an Aikido deck waits for opponents to act first and then redirects, copies, or steals their threats. The archetype is centered in red and white and typically uses politics to encourage opponents to attack each other.

Deflecting Palm and Comeuppance send damage back toward its source, while Wild Ricochet, Reverberate, and Deflecting Swat copy or retarget spells on the stack. Insurrection and Control Magic take over opponents' creatures, and goad effects force them to attack elsewhere.
