What is Artisan in Magic?

Artisan is an MTG Arena constructed format in which every card in a 60-card deck must be common or uncommon, similar to the tabletop Peasant format. Rarity is based on Arena printings, so a card that only exists as a rare or mythic on Arena isn't legal even if it was printed at a lower rarity elsewhere.

Without rare sweepers or combo pieces, the format rewards efficient creatures, cheap removal, and synergy. Typal decks are especially strong, since uncommons such as Legion Lieutenant, Merfolk Mistbinder, and Empyrean Eagle work to help pump entire boards.
