Offspring is an additional cost you may pay while casting a creature spell. If you paid it, the creature creates a 1/1 token copy of itself when it enters, preserving its abilities while replacing its normal power and toughness.
ETB creatures are particularly attractive because the offspring provides another copy of the same triggered ability. Zinnia, Valley's Voice can even give offspring to other creature spells, turning an entire deck into miniature value engines.
