Planeswalkers are permanents that enter the battlefield with loyalty counters and use loyalty abilities that add or remove those counters. Their abilities can provide card advantage, removal, tokens, mana, and powerful ultimate effects.
The Chain Veil allows additional planeswalker loyalty activations, while Doubling Season can greatly increase the loyalty counters many planeswalkers enter with. Proliferate effects such as Evolution Sage provide another way to steadily build loyalty over time.
