What is retrace in Magic?

Retrace allows a card in your graveyard to be cast by paying its normal mana cost and discarding a land as an additional cost. Unlike flashback, the card returns to the graveyard after resolving and can potentially be retraced again.

Life from the Loam is an ideal partner because it continually returns lands to your hand. Flame Jab turns excess lands into repeated damage, while Worm Harvest turns them into an expanding army of creepy crawlies.
