What does Mountains Matter mean in Magic?
Mountains Matter decks use cards that care about the number of Mountains you control. Mostly red, these cards turn a land base full of Mountains into direct damage, extra mana, and powerful finishers.
Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle deals 3 damage whenever a Mountain enters while you control five others, and Scapeshift can trigger it many times at once. Koth, Fire of Resistance and Spawn of Thraxes turn your Mountain count into damage.
