This deck could win with combat if it gets a board of legendaries, Jodah's first ability is no joke, but there's no reason to attract the ire of the table by swinging unless the combo has been made impossible. This rarely happens, though, as this deck runs plenty of ways to protect its unique combo pieces, labman, tourach, and jodah from everything from theft (i.e. airbending Jodah with aang when he's stolen) to graveyard hate (i.e. using mistveil plains to put a dead labman or tourach where it can be tutored for).\n\nThe mana abilities which draw cards and 3 mana legendary combo pieces are redundant but are not dead cards. Labman is a mostly dead card, but may be used with pyre of heroes to grab Arcade Ganon, makes coveted prize cheaper, and has some other utility as a human wizard. Tourach may be pyred into labman or many other 3 mana humans, pumps other legends for blocking with Jodah out, and could even be used to force discards in the rare circumstance that two black mana are available on cast. For a combo deck, this deck feels extremely cohesive, as it is built around the combo pieces.\n\nThe deck isn't oppressive in bracket 2, despite running one of the most popular and powerful WUBRG commanders, as I have given it many fatal flaws. While Jodah is usually considered very powerful, I intentionally do not use green ramp, opting to run ability/artifact-only dorks to synergize with the eggs that also serve as combo pieces. After \"tutoring\" out Tourach, Jodah's ability stops doing anything but revealing and shuffling my deck when I cast a 3 mana legendary, greatly reducing his utility. The deck has many ways to tutor 1 mana artifacts, but no especially-strong-by-themself artifacts like sol ring or sensei's divining top. Other factors which lower this deck's overall power level and prevent it from stealing wins early are the budget landbase, middle-of-the-road tutor package, unconventional toolbox cards, disruptible combo, and quite low salt score. This deck closes out the game by sticking combo pieces for a 5 part combo turn 9 or 10, it feels fair and consistent in bracket 2.\n\nOverall, I love playing this deck. It requires a lot of thought, there are not any specific cards that I always use a given tutor for. It requires getting creative when answering opponents attempts to disrupt its ability to combo, especially when Jodah is such a juicy target to remove or steal. It also feels great to win using a combo I invented by studying the rules very closely :)\n\nA few more little synergy packages:\n-- The angels have a linear cmc for pyre\n-- no enchantments and the fact its a human now make nova cleric a premium one drop\n-- It's technically possible to complete your party for coveted prize\n-- Dalakos + Deconstruction Hammer\n-- "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dryad Arbor"}},{"insert":" is for when x=0 on "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer"}},{"insert":" \n-- Muldrotha can be tutored out with pyre on jegantha\n\nNotes:\n-- "},{"insert":{"card-link":"The Jolly Balloon Man"}},{"insert":" may not be used to kill tourach with the legend rule, he has protection from white.\n-- "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Jegantha, the Wellspring"}},{"insert":" is mainly to enable casting Jodah on your combo turn or for making commander tax affordable after he's removed. \n-- "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Aang, Swift Savior // Aang and La, Ocean's Fury"}},{"insert":" is a star of the deck, allowing winning on top of enemy win attempts, saving Jodah for the combo turn, getting Jodah back if he's stolen, or general disruption of enemy gameplans. There is usually no reason to transform it.\n-- Most of the recursion and dorks are for popping eggs over and over for both draw and ramp.\n\nI successfully performed this combo in a casual game at an LGS on 4/11/2026, which was probably world first, as no other Jodah decks on EDHrec contain the necessary pieces at time of writing.\n"}]}
