The format was never about winning as much as it's about giving the table a memorable experience. So I build for story first. I gravitate toward theme and flavor decks, and I want the commander to matter without the deck falling apart if it never hits the field. Resilience over reliance.\n\nI've also drifted away from the easy stuff: repeatable win conditions, tutors that fetch the same answer every game. A deck that plays the same way and wins the same way stops being interesting fast, unless you're new to the format or still building your instincts. I'd rather a deck surprise me.\n\nI like decks that grow. A release-spanning theme deck lets me chase that, since committing to every color of a set means I actually experience what that release was about. Nick Fury is the current example. It's built around a full Marvel Universes Beyond identity, so a card like the Hot Dog Cart shows up next to Tony Stark instead of feeling like it wandered in from a different story. There's a +1/+1 counter backbone, a lot of repeat Nick Fury triggers, and cards that let me play things for free. What comes out of that combination changes every game. I still haven't won with this deck the same way twice.\n"}]}
