What is the Competitive Brawl format in Magic?

Competitive Brawl is a ranked Magic Arena format introduced in 2026 for players seeking a higher-powered version of Brawl. It uses 100-card singleton decks led by an eligible commander, 25 starting life, and the commander's color identity.

Competitive Brawl has its own banned-list philosophy and ranked matchmaking rather than simply being ranked normal Brawl. It also removes Brawl's free mulligan and is intentionally managed to accommodate a substantially higher power level.
