Cid pumps artifact creatures and heroes, but looks to a different creature type (artificers) for the scaling of the anthem effect. Well, if we need Hero/Artificers that sounds like changelings (although, now that Marvel has made an appearance, we have our first Artificer Hero that fits the color identity - Shuri across her two printings). At that point the changeling deck become a sort of hidden commander deck based on Cid. Although, with 15 copies, the commander isn't really that hidden. \n\nI have built two versions of this deck, one with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Brenard, Ginger Sculptor"}},{"insert":" at the helm, and the other one with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"The Sixth Doctor"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Jo Grant"}},{"insert":" partnering around. I usually have both commanders along and swap them out (along with a "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Selvala, Heart of the Wilds"}},{"insert":" for Brenard's 99) whenever the mood strikes me. They each have their strong points. Brenard adds much needed trample to the big bodies that Cid makes, as well as some removal protection with his food reanimation. The Food Golem are also artifacts, so they will be pumped by Cid. The Sixth Doctor adds some explosiveness at the high end, allowing for multiple copies of Cid and creating Board states that can be truly ridiculous. It is probably a little win-more, but isn't that what casual commander is all about?\n\nPlaying the deck is pretty easy. In the early turns, you are casting one of your mana critters, and hopefully a Changeling or two while you try to get some Cids into the yard through their cycling ability, or with spells like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Frantic Search"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Cache Grab"}},{"insert":" or "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Midnight Tilling"}},{"insert":" . Then, once your board position is okay, you drop a Cid from your hand and start swinging with the pumped heroes, changelings, and any artifact creatures that are lying around. \n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Card Selection"},{"insert":"\nCid has 15 different art versions, so I will always be running 15 copies of Cid. That does make it tight around the edges though. Removal, Ramp, everything is probably a couple of cards shorter then it should be. \n\nFor card draw, I am aiming for spells and effects that draw in large bursts, over repeatedly drawing a single card. The goal of that is to overload my hand, letting me discard more Cids and changelings to add to the anthem effect, since Cid counts creatures in the graveyard as well as in play. I have zero board wipes, but I haven’t found that to be too large of a problem; I am the one that people will usually be wiping the board against. \n \nThe artifact/hero creatures were selected for how they interacted with Cids buff. In a previous game, I got to ask, \"Do you pay the 25 for Esper Sentinel?\" Other fun moments include drawing 15 cards for a single Professor Hulk hit, or threatening a Storm or Sensational She-Hulk activation with double-digit power. \n"}]}
