{"ops":[{"insert":"I have been playing MTG in various formats on and off for the last 25+ years. While I have played most, if not all formats to some extent or another, I have settled into commander. Aside from the fact that it's what most players are interested in, I enjoy the 'kitchen table' feel of commander games. A group of frienemies trying to make the best of whatever they've got in the shoebox.\n\nWhile I do own a number of (very) expensive pieces of cardboard that I will occasionally use, I patently refuse to accept the notion that you have to spend big $$$ to enjoy this game. Unless you're intent is to play exclusively at the upper limits of the commander power scale, filling your deck with the \"best in slot\" cardboard is both uninteresting and largely unnecessary. Magic The Gathering has an insanely large pool of cards to chose from, some of which can be inexpensive, unique, and with the right synergies, powerful. \n\nCommander is, to me, the ultimate creative outlet this game can provide. \n\nSo get creative.\n\n"}]}
