{"ops":[{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"\"I believe I have an alligator in my sewer...\""},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"GAME STATS:"},{"insert":"\n8 Games Played; 3W/0D/5L, 0 Last Place Finishes\nDeck KO's: 8\n\nA cheaper deck focused on crocodiles, attempting to get them stronger through the use of artifacts, other creatures and various supporting enchantments. The Commander is your main source of drawing, always allowing you to have a pretty good hand size. Your crocodiles, while not the scariest creatures in the game, should be getting a lot of help from those supporting cards to keep pressure on passive decks while also granting yourself protection through things like Shroud, Hexproof, and Deathtouch. Phasing is an interesting mechanic that I'd like to play around with on Crocodiles more, but as of now this is the current build I have planned for Tabletop Simulator testing.\n\nCrocodiles are not great cards. Similiar to Snow Foxes and to an extent Frenzy Spiders, Crocodile cards really feel like they're filler cards that are meant to take up space in your booster packs rather than actually see much play. However, because crocodiles and alligators are among my top three favorite animals lol, I decided to try and build something that could potentially compete with other average Bracket 2 decks. It needs a good bit of testing before a final build is confirmed, but the deck should be updated as I play with them more over the next couple months.\n\nAs far as mechanics go, there really aren't too many true synergies with crocodile cards outside of tribal bonuses. They feel a lot like weaker, cheaper dinosaurs that invest into Blue rather than White. This does open up some interesting possibilities though, allowing you to go for a graveyard focused deck, a more control-based deck, or your average giant-counters green deck. This is a bit of a mesh between Control and Counter Buffing, with many of your Black coming from your creatures rather than your spells. You could get away with running more Counterspells, and I do like the idea of Phasing and making use of Stun Counters as a potential theme for the deck as time goes on. But as of right now, it just needs a few games to test the waters and see what's working and what isn't.\n\nYour main win-con will be through damage, easily enough. There are no cheaper win conditions or cheesy methods at the moment. It's just a matter of getting damage through to the other players, hopefully buffing your crocodiles enough through the match to overwhelm other decks. With cards like Propaganda and your various Combat Damage negations, it'll help you out defensively as well when you've tapped out your creatures. Arachnogenesis is another very tempting option, perhaps being swappable with Preposterous Proportions.\n\nFor additional cards in the future, while Phasing does feel like the direction I'd like to eventually take the deck, I think that having some more targeted destruction could also be pretty useful. If any creatures seem like they aren't pulling their weight or some spells end up as frequent dead cards, maybe swapping them for some Enchantment Destruction or additional Ramp wouldn't be a bad call either. I think that it needs more testing in a real game setting to know for sure what needs to go before adding the flashier mechanics to the deck.\n\nAs far as possible counters go, I'm really not sure at the moment. Blue Counterspell decks seem like they might be able to give this deck a bit of trouble, as well as Flying decks from Blue, Angels from White/Black or Dragons in Red could all possibly prove problematic as I think on it. Dinosaurs or even hydras would also be a problem, as they are quite literally both just better crocodiles lol. They'll each be bigger than you are, making your blockers much more valuable and your unblockable and destruction spells now essential. Discard/Mill decks might be troublesome too, as there isn't a ton of recursion in the current build.\n\nThis is much more of a budget deck because of crocodiles being so cheap, so I wouldn't recommend taking this deck into anything above Bracket 3. I believe that it'll find some success against more average tables, but it could get ugly fast if you're getting screwed by mana and not drawing into your Ramp early on. Your Commander is only there for her colors and her draw effect, so your crocodiles and their various buffers are really all you have to work with. It's a decent deck if you have rent to pay next week lol, but otherwise you might be better off trying a dinosaur deck if you want something that'll be a little more explosive and can hold its own while in those higher tier pods.\n"}]}
