{"ops":[{"insert":"(I lost my sol ring irl, so that is why it is in maybeboard here. Update, got another one, but now don't know where to put it.)\n\nOne thing I heard is \"you fought one sliver deck, you fought them all.\" So I decided to take it personally and build a very unique but good sliver deck from scratch. (I’ve never gone against a sliver deck, and people are saying this looks like any other sliver deck… sigh)\n\nAttempting to make a deck that is fun to play rather than fully competitive, but still good for when you want to go for the win. Has combos but don't immediately try to win. I recently fixed the mana system and accidentally made the mana overpowered, you are almost guaranteed to have overlord out by turn five if you didn't get ramp.\n\nI want to only add those cute lil asymmetrical slivers, non of those humanoid art, or... whatever that muscle sliver thing is. But predatory and muscle sliver have 1 artwork. And even a single +1/+1 can do so much for your critters under your care.\n\nA very good deck for bracket three. It's not bracket four yet I think. It also says it's bracket four because it has an early game two-card infinite combo, which is to create and sacrifice a token over and over to no gain at all. So it is a useless combo. If you want a useless three card combo, manaweft, scuttling, and training grounds will let slivers tap for mana to untap itself for no reason. Sliver queen with mana-echoes... that's a different story. If you want to be fair and have a fun game, don't tutor sliver queen when you have mana echoes. I like to keep it in lower brackets because I want the game to go on longer and have more fun. I've actually never played determined brackets before though.\n\nNote: By the time of writing this, I think I have optimized too much. My other decks still beat this one every once in a while, but they require serious counters. If not, this deck will either tap everything, destroy the board worse than eldrazi, or grow in unblockable numbers. Now granted, it still takes over 7 turns to win, but I don't want to be the only one having fun. Other note: My dragon deck seems to have an even win rate with this thing. My angel deck used to beat it 4/5 times until every time I went against it I brought out spirit of resistance every turn the last few tries and won each time. It's possible that was due to luck. As there is no way to tutor spirit of resistance. I built the deck for multiplayer commander, but I have never played multiplayer commander with it yet. So I actually have no idea where this lands. Other Other note: by getting constricting sliver, harmonic sliver, and Thassa, you are the only one with nonland permanents. If you get those three early game, you pretty much are likely going to win if opponents don't have removal.\nUpdate: I have played an actual game now! It was against precons so I was nervous, andI removed all tier one threats you'll find at the bottom. The first 1v1 game they had a bad hand and the slivers were running off so we had to start a new game, and against the other precon they actually won. And then in a 3v3 the slivers were actually the first to lose due to a lot of goading and flying. Though I could have survived another turn or more if I wasn't greedy and tutored for amoeboid changeling to maybe steal something the next turn, but I should have grabbed a sliver to give me flying. This gives this deck a 33% win rate against precons. Granted, I never got any of the cost reducers or major mana ramping, and when I tutored manaweft it was removed with a -1/-1 aura, so I have learned if you don't cheat around costs, the deck is surprisingly balanced. (I think)\n\nMorophon paired with Overlord is insanely overpowered that I considered dropping it, allowing you to treat your library like a hand except all sliver lords and colorled mana only slivers cost only three colorless via the tutor cost. Instead I made a rule to never tutor Morophon, else he will often be the first thing you tutor, which makes every game nearly the same, which was the OPPOSITE of what I wanted for this deck. Use tutoring to make fun plays, or do what slivers do best and adapt to what's on the board.\n\nI replaced winged sliver with Spinneret sliver to give reach rather than flying. It's not fun when you can't do anything against a flying deck, but it is also not fun when you are that flying deck. Granted there are still three cards in this deck that give slivers flying. And two of those are very cheap.\n\nChangeling is one of the best cards in here. It can turn opponent creatures into slivers by tapping, and you can use overlord to steal them with three colorless. With training grounds it only costs one to steal per turn. There are ways to steal more than one. With scuttling, overlord, changeling and training grounds, you can steal for one then untap for one, letting you steal a creature for every two mana you pay. Another way is to duplicate changeling via hatchery sliver (amazing late game), or Reflections of Littjara. Or untap once every players untap step with Quest for Renewal. (I've just discovered Unnatural selection. Which pays 1 rather than tapping... wow. Now where to put it.)\n\nChangling can also make you friends, though hard to do when playing a sliver deck. Using magma sliver or other \"all slivers have\", you can buff someone's creatures when turning them into slivers or save them using crypt sliver regeneration. Perfect \"if you don't attack me...\" energy. You can also just use this to buff an opponents creature out of nowhere to kill a large creature you don't like. If someone blocks a commander with a 1/1, make that 1/1 a 7/1 to remove a creature without risking your own.\n\nBLOOMTENDER! Basically a cheap morophon, but can also pay for the colorless requirements, when used right it can get you your commander really quickly while having far more mana than you should. If you use unnatural selection and turn her into a sliver, then give her \"untap for 2\" with scuttling sliver, infinite mana of any colors you like. Without the combo that is still tap for five while costing just 2 mana. Mana rocks wish they were that good. This makes her the first non-sliver/shapeshifter to enter this deck.\n\nQuest for Renewal should be easy to access as there are five slivers with tapping abilities, which will untap next players turn if you tap four in the same turn you cast it. From then on you can treat ALL of the slivers you aren't attacking with as lands with manaweft or gemhide. Imagine this with quick sliver, which I now realize I have never drawn in an actual game.\n\nI had thought I made an infinite combo to use lazotep, basal and sliver queen to make a sliver army with infinite +1/+1 counters, but then noticed it needs nontoken slivers to die :/\nUpon writing this, I have come up with a new way to do this because that's not stopping me. Realmwalker, pulmonic, crypt or a sliver that costs black mana without morophon and 2 or less, and basal sliver (which with something that lowers the cost can be just done with basal sliver itself), then Lazotep: sacrifice sliver, make it go to the top of library, use realmwalker to cast it, then sacrifice it again, this should actually cause the +1/+1 counters to go on your sliver army.\n\nCareful with Harmonic. While you can demolish enemy enchantments and artifacts, you are holding a literal bomb. And when you destroy all of the artifacts your opponents own, the slivers will hunger, 26% of our nonland permanents are enchantment/artifacts, and they will look appealing. My most recent update made more combos to defuse Harmonic. I used to always just keep it in hand unless I needed it, or would use it with hibernation sliver to put it back in hand. But then I learned something, if you have an artifact or enchantment with indestructible, you can always target that instead of something else. Now you can use harmonic to only destroy things your opponent owns. Thassa, Deep Dwelling is AMAZING for this. She fixes many of the problems in this sliver deck, while even synergizing with more. She is a target for harmonic while being indestructible. She can tap creatures but in a much worse- I mean- balanced way than telekinetic sliver. AND, every upkeep she lets you blink a sliver, and make them re-enter the battlefield. Don't want to exile the sliver unearthed with Dregscape Sliver? Put it in exile with Thassa instead and bring it back to the battlefield brand new. Want to swap the creature you captured with constricting sliver, or just keep making tokens disappear, make your sliver leave the battlefield, release what it stole, then steal a creature again. Destroy another enchantment with Harmonic, not needing to worry about your own since this means Thassa is already on the battlefield and indestructible. Goad more creatures with Taunting sliver, deal damage and heal again with lava-belly. Yes, my friend, she is not a sliver, but she is a useful ally to them. Careful if you turn her into a creature, while she can still be targeted and used by harmonic, creatures are more vulnerable to creature removal. At least she still has indestructible.\n\nSome of these enchantments are gamechanging. When you start running out of enchantments to destroy, consider using hibernation sliver to bring it back to your hand. Spirit of resistance actually lets me beat my highly overpowered angel deck. Drop it and just build up your board and relax. (written before I had ways to tame harmonic sliver, but still applies if you don't have those ways to tame it)\n\nI am scared of Kindred Discovery. It is a powerful draw engine in this deck. But drawing cards is not a decision, if you play a sliver, you MUST draw a card, if you attack, you MUST draw a card PER sliver attacking. It makes it feel like a ticking time bomb before you draw your deck. I don't know how to not be discarding cards even playing a sliver every once in a while. But drawing a lot of cards means you will always have cards when slivers are so cheap to play, that is why I put it back in.\n\nDo NOT get rid of training grounds. It goes in so many combos it is rare for you to draw it and not use it. Tutor any sliver for one colorless, steal any sliver (or one made through changeling) for one colorless. Sacrifice a token with necrotic to destroy any permanent (including that land the sneaky player put a \"only you can win the game\" counter on). Sliver queen tokens only costing one, therefore with haste and mana weft making as many tapped tokens as you would like. Scuttling sliver's untap, may I go on? What's best is it only costs one mana, given that there are 3 1 mana cards in this deck, you should get it quickly with The First Sliver's cascade chain.\n\nAdding Lava-belly to any infinite token or summon generation = win the game doing absolutely nothing.\n\nTelekinetic sliver can tap lands. You can do this during a players upkeep, which happens before they draw a card but after their untap step. So you CAN prevent opponents from using lands. Especially with a specific enchantment that lets you untap creatures on other players' untap step, letting you do this to every opponent. Don't tell anyone I said this. Have restraint, it's not worth your relationships. Unless they badtalk slivers, those who badtalk slivers gets their lands tapped. \n\nIt was in 5th grade where my obsession with slivers started. I had this magazine of the 2015 set, and one of the cards was the sliver hivelord. \"Slivers you control have indestructible\" I thought it was so cool. I always wanted my own slivers. I had this genius idea of \"what if I cheated the system and stacked a deck with just slivers?\" not knowing there was such thing as a kindred deck. It's funny that I've only got access to slivers this year 10 years later. But I feel as though they are perfect for what I am trying to create. I don't know if I could do the same without them. They are so versatile and use every color effectively. Like a sandbox, so many options what to do.\n\nI just built a variation built fully on controlling creatures without relying on slivers, meant to be more casual but scored a higher power score in a calculator. Though when playtesting I believe this deck is still faster, so I wonder why. It may be because it has a lot more removal and protection because it has a vulnerable engine.\n\nRanking by Threat Management:\n(Each tier must have 4 cards each, to give an idea of which are more dangerous on the board than others. Some cards grouped as the same card which practically does the same, so two cards that is essentially one doesn't take up a slot. It is possible I may get some wrong.)\n\nTier 1: Morophon, mana echoes, bloom tender, sliver legion\nTier 2: The first sliver, thrumming hivepool, manaweft/gemhide sliver, Gaea’s Cradle.\nTier 3: Sliver Queen, training grounds, kindred discovery, three tree city\nTier 4: bonescythe sliver, cloudshredder sliver, shifting sliver, Amoeboid Changeling/Unnatural Selection\nTier 5: crystalline sliver, Sliver Hivelord, Hatchery Sliver, The Great Henge\nTier 6: realmwalker, Rhystic study, Spirit of Resistance, Telekinetic Sliver\nTier 7: Harmonic Sliver, Quest for Renewal, Constricting Sliver, Taunting Sliver\nTier 8: Necrotic sliver, Sliver gravemother, Diffusion Sliver, Crypt Sliver\n"}]}
