Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"This is a Sliver commander deck I (as I'm sure many others did) decided put together as a result of getting a Sliver Overlord in the Kaleidascope Killers secret lair drop along with Ur-Dragon.\n\nThis was made under a much greater budget constraint compared with my 'main' Scion of the Ur-Dragon EDH deck ([which you can see here](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/scion-of-the-flying-beatdown-edh/)) but does still include some power in spite of also including some jank. In particular, [[Virulent Sliver]] can rapidly knock players out through poison counters when combined with the evasion of [[Shadow Sliver]], [[Shifting Sliver]] or one of the deck's flying slivers.\n\nThe board wipes I've chosen here are [[Day of Judgment]] and [[End Hostilities]] - partly because I had them to hand already, and partly to take advantage of [[Clot Sliver]] granting regenerate to other slivers and allowing at least some of my board to survive them while usually destroying everything else. End Hostilities comes with the benefit of also destroying equipment and auras at the same time.\n\nThe mana base for this deck is a lot simpler; it does have a number of useful non-basic lands like [[Sliver Hive]] and Commander staples like [[Command Tower]], but it mostly relies on basic lands and slower fetches like the Panoramas and the Mirage fetch lands. This does still allow for mana fixing, but slows the deck down compared to the more competitive Onslaught and Zendikar fetches. The Tri-lands can't be fetched out and enter tapped, but each provide a choice of three colours of mana.\n\n\nUpgrades;"},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\n- [[Cyclonic Rift]] is an easy upgrade to make for any deck in blue as an asymmetrical board wipe.\n\n- [[Sliver Hivelord]] would grant all Slivers indestructible, making them significantly harder to get rid of through typical means.[\n\n- [[Sliver Legion]] to pump up slivers on the board\n\n- [[Sliver Gravemother]] for some extra spikey graveyard recursion\n\n- Battle lands (like [[Cinder Glade]]) and Bicycle lands (like [[Sheltered Thicket]]) can be pulled out with fetches and would provide additional flexibility to the deck's mana base. Upping the budget more, the Shock Lands are an even better option.\n\n- [[Morophon, the Boundless]] is a great choice for any tribal deck and lets you play most slivers in this deck either for free, or at a significant cost reduction.\n\n\nNotable omissions;"},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\n[[Sliver Queen]] due to her high price for a single card; though if you can afford it, she's an obvious inclusion since her ability to make tokens can be very readily abused by [[Ashnod's Altar]], [[Basal Sliver]] or other sacrifice outlets for infinite ETB triggers. Though on the bright side, lacking this particular degeneracy does make the deck more casual-friendly.\n"}]}
