Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"The deck is just made for fun. The general idea was to create a commander deck around some elves and beasts that had synergies between eachother. Cards like \"advocate of the beast\",\"wirewood savage\",, \"Totem speaker\" and \"Woodland Liege\" are cards that inspired me. Then i saw that there were 3 beasts (\"Stampeding Wildebeests\", \"Stampeding Serow\",\"Roaring Primadox\") that bounce green creatures back to hands. There are also a lot of elves and beasts with ETB. I tried to remain restricted with elves and beast the most i could. (Although there is a giant that creates elves on landfall \"Elfsworn giant\"). Well... you need at least some payoff when you play landfall right? there aren't a lot of landfall beast and elves at the moment. So, anyway, i had that stupid idea to play simic bounce but in mono green. \n\nSutina? Why this commander? It has nothing to do with bouncing creatures. It's more of a landfall commander, so why? Well i though it would be a fun idea to bounce the lands aswell XD and make some landfall along the way. And Sutina will ramp you when she ETB. She is a target for 3 bounce enabling beasts. Also Sutina triggers the two main beast that i wanna play \"Rampaging Baloths\" when you do some landfall, and \"Herd Baloth\" whenever she attacks and puts a +1/+1 counter on it. You're not gonna have a lot of counters with this deck. it's not the best at doing so. This deck is not ment to be super efficient ok XD don't judge me. You can make your creatures a bit stronger by adding \"Hardened Scales\". It only cost one mana and it's not bad with Sutina. \n\nUnfortunatly there are not enough landfall elves and beasts at the moment. But \"Tireless Provisioner\" could be a good addition to the squad. \n\nAlso... if you add Yedora (treefolk, so, who is unfortunatly not a beast or an elf, i know) you can bounce back dead long eared friends and nasty hairy beasts back to your hands. It kinda makes the downside of Sutina bouncing the land back to your hand, a viable upside, a pseudo recursion thingy. \"Ashaya Soul of the Wild\" is also a cool non-elvish/ non-beasty way to bounce your creatures back, since your creatures are becoming forests.\n\nFeel free to add other non-beasts or elves creatures with cool ETB if you don't wanna get restricted with the elves and beast theme nonsense XD. \n\nThere are three other mono green bounce enabler that you could add, but that aren't elves and beast \"Temur Sabertooth (cat) \", \"Wirewood symbiote (insect)\", and \"First Responder (orc)\". \"First Responder\" is maybe not so good in this deck but \"Wirewood Symbiote\" and \"Temur Sabertooth\" are really good. \"Temur Sabertooth\" offers a good protection (instant speed, low mana cost, repetable, no tap) for your important pieces like your commander. When Sutina is targeted by a spell, just bounce her back to your hand, and recast her next turn. She will ETB another terrain on your battelfield making you ramp into space. If you don't add these three non beast bouncy creature, you'll probably have to tutor for one of the 3 bouncy beasts or for \"Eternal Witness\". If you tutor for Eternal Witness, you're gonna play more a reanimator deck. It will always get the +1 counter needed when Sutina attacks. \"Fauna Shaman\" is a very good tutor option. If you're not a very tutoryfriendly person, well, you can still search through your deck with this beast \"Nessian Game Warden\" on ETB. It will let your reveal a creature depending the number of forests you control and blablabla. It's like a middle ground between drawing and tutoring, you're not getting your candy directly in hands. But, i suggest you to pick the tutor instead if you're playing with an aggressif playgroup. The deck can be very slow at beginning. But when the pieces are in place, you can't stop drawing and ramping XD. It is surprisingly very resilient. \n\nFor cool ETB creatures that you would wanna draw or tutor for, there are creatures like \"Gladehart Cavalry\", \"Ridgescale Tusker\", and \"Thragtusk\". These are the main, and the most impactfull creatures that you can bounce back and recast. Other than that, there are just a bunch of elves that make you draw and ramp. \n\nSince Sutina bounces you a terrain back to you hand when she attacks, you should make sure to have a way to play two terrains a turn, in your opening hand or when you mulligan. For ETB beast i found \"Arboreal Grazer\" and for ETB elf \"Elvish Pioneer\". They will help you get rid of terrain that sutina threw you back in to your hand. Also you can search for \"Oracle of Mul Daya\" for the elf, and \"Loot, Exuberant Explorer\" for the beast, to play 2 terrains a turn. \"Skyrshroud ranger\" and \"Llanowar Scout\" in the sideboard are also good option to get rid of the land bounced back with Sutina's attack. And then there is \"Burgeoning\" that really deserves its spot in the deck. \n\nThere is a serious lack of interaction in the deck, you can add \"Affectionate Indrik\" and \"Lurking Arynx\" to have some form of removal on a beast creature. For the removal on elves, there are things like \"Sharpshooter elf\", \"Lys Alana Bowmaster\". But you can only kill flying creatures with it. Hey, a cool commander deck made to play with friends need to have weaknesses right?\nAs sorceries and instants, you could add \"Charge of the Forever-Beast\",\"Beast within\",\"Curious Herd\",\"Fresh meat\",\"Pulse of the Tangle\",\"Ezuri's Predation\",\"Wild Endeavor\" and \"Galadrhim ambush\" for some beasts and elves theme spells. You can add Bow of Nylea to put your non permanant spells back in your deck. There is a chance you draw it a second time and redo these shenaniganses all over again, since Sutina makes you shuffle your deck when she ETB. And you know what is better than one \"Ezuri Predation\" during a game? Two \"Ezuri Predations\" during the same game ! Mmm lovely.\n\"Sawtusk Demolisher\" is really cool too, it's basically a \"Beast within\" but on a permanent card, that you can bring back from the graveyard with \"Evolution witness\". Just mutate a useless elf token chilling into \"Sawtusk Demolisher\".\n\nTo wipe the board, i suggest you to add \"Ravenous Gigantotherium\" which will devour all your useless 1/1 elves token that you create and then let it fight other creatures.\n\nTo protect yourself from boardwipes, i suggest you to play \"fresh meat\" and proudly take the boardwipe, instead of cards like \"Divine intervention\" or \"Wrap in vigor\". Just let the wipe happen, you still loose your board indeed but rebuild directly an army of 3/3 beasts with \"Fresh meat\". It's more flavorfull and more beasty thingy. To rebuild yourself after a wipe, there is \"Evolution witness\". And if it dies, bring it back with \"Elvish Regrower\". You can also revive your creatures with \"Yedora\" (if you don't care about having only beast or elves) or \"grave Sifter\" (if you wanna stay beast theme focused). With \"Grave Sifter\", you'll be able to bring back to your hands all your beasts or all your elves frome the grave. But carefull, opponents are gonna be able to bring back creatures from a single type too. \"You can also add \"Pulse of the Tangle\" to rebuild fast after a boardwipe. If you have \"Emerald Medallion\" this repetable sorcery can be casted for 2 mana to create a 3/3 beast. \"Spearbreaker Behemoth\" is a beast that protects your main creatures. Just make sure to reach at least 5+ power with them. \"Selfless Safewright\" is an elf that would flash in and protect your beasts or your elves... you'll have to make a choice, it's a two creatures type tribal after all. We're playing fair magic here ;).\n\n\"Grave Sifter\" is a honorable beast that will let you return all your elves or all your beasts from the graveyard to your hands. But in echange, your opponents will be allowed to do the same. If you wanna be mean and selfish, you can play and bounce the land \"Pit of Offerings\" that exiles cards from the graveyard of other tribal players before casting \"Grave SIfter\". You can regulate what is gonna come back. Make sure to add \"thought vessel\" and \"Reliquary Tower\" in your deck so you'll able to keep all these cards in hand though. Because with \"Grave Sifter you'll be playing with 20 cards in hands or something.\n\nIf you don't want to get restricted to draw when a beast ETB like \"wirewood savage\" and \"woodland liege\" which can sometimes be useless if you can't cast any beast of the game. (There are more elves than beasts in the deck, so it may happen, sorry :'c ) And if you play this deck against friends who are playing solid 2, 3, 4 or bigger brackets or even modern précons that have some really good synergies going on, you could be stuggling. Mulligan is King with this deck. Personaly, I don't wanna get rid of these two creatures because they make the essence, the spirit of this deck. It is what made me build a deck around elves and beast in the first place. But, you can totally remplace this 2 creatures with \"Guardian Project\" and \"Lifecrafter's Bestiary\" which are way more reliable since you'll be casting and recasting your creatures over and over again, regardless if it's a beast, or not. \n\nWarning: The deck is ment to be an experimental bracket lower tier 2. But if you put \"Ivy Lane Denizen\" and \"Herd Baloth\" in the deck, that you put them at the same time on the battlefield, or that you especially tutor for these two cards, then it becomes a bracket 4 with infinite counters, beasts and potentially draw and lifegain depending on what is on your battelfield XD (like \"Totem speaker\", \"or \"wirewood savage\" for exemple). So you could potentially end up with all your deck in hand :'D. So warn your playgroup if it's the case before the game starts. But even so, if it is categorised as a bracket 4 on EDHREC, don't even try to compete with other bracket 4 with this deck :D. It's still to slow.\n\nTo pump the board, you can use \"Blossoming Bogbeast\". \"Tireless Provisioner\" is a cool landfall elf to add. Basically if you crack all these delicious and juicy food token at the perfect time, when you strike with \"Blossoming Bogbeast\", it can deal a lot of damage.\n\"Mirkwood Elk\" (I know it's not an elf or a beast but it's the same rule as \"wirewood symbiote\" and \"elfsworn giant\", it has a elves lives matters kinda capacity) is a good option to bring back important elves (like \"Selfless Safewright\" or \"Evolution Witness\") in your hands, and you'll gain life along the way, which can lead to a devasting blow with \"Blossoming Bogbeast\". There are some other ways to gain life in the deck (like: \"Thragtusk\",\"Retreat to Kazandu\",\"Elder Gargaroth\",\"Arborback Stomper\",\"Sylvan Brushstrider\",\"Wolverine riders\" and my favorite \"Primeval Bounty\"), so it's not a totally crapy stuff.\n\nHow to win: If you win, it would probably be by spamming the finisher \"Craterhoof Behemoth\", if one ETB isn't enough and that your opponent want some more, just bounce it back and cast it again next turn. Other than that your creatures elves and beasts are gonna stay pretty weak unfortunatly, unless you have the pump \"Thunderfoot Baloth\" or \"Blossoming Bogbeast\" on the battlefield.\n\nInstead of a \"Craterhoof Behemoth\" go wide strategy wincon. You can remplace \"Craterhoof Behemoth\" by \"Cultivator Colossus\"which is more a voltrony landmatter beast. It will make you draw and ramp all your deck depending on what you have on the battelfield, then finish someone next turn with the power based on the number of lands you control and trample. It's not a finisher but it's a huge threat. If you play with \"Cultivator Colossus\" instead of \"Craterhoof Behemoth\" make sure to have at least 40 lands in your deck, and \"Seer's Sundial\".\n\nSince you ETB with a lot of creatures, you will potentialy not be able attack at your turn, since the creatures have summoning sickness. You don't really have a way to give haste to the elves and beast. So you could try to play your creatures in flash at the end of the last opponent, so the creature will be ready to stike at your turn. You can achieve this miracle with these card: \"Yeva, Nature's Herald\" (Elf) and \"Vivien, Champion of the Wilds\" (planewalker)\n"}]}
