I wanted a SCRY deck with an elf subtheme. Which meant I needed more win conditions that centered around scry. Fortunately, ATLA came in clutch when it saw another UB deck in need, and it brought two things that tied everything together. And the deck scries a lot. (I'm sad that this is how the plural of scry is spelled, feels wrong) It also increased the value of any card that specified something going back to the library, although I still ended up cutting most of them, since he isn't the commander and if they aren't good enough when he isn't in play, they shouldn't be in the deck unless I wanted to make him the secret commander. Which I considered, but since he's already doing numbers with just scry, that's good enough. Keep in mind that at this point in the deckbuilding process, the deck was still blue/green with either"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Arwen Undómiel"}},{"insert":"or"},{"insert":{"card-link":"Elrond, Master of Healing"}},{"insert":"as the commander. It wasn't until I discovered the 2nd key that things changed.\n\n2: Waterbending. That might sound confusing at first, but I'll explain. Several scry cards care about being tapped or untapped, and that theme was also a big part of the UW colour wheel in ATLA because of waterbending. This resulted in me adding white to the deck to fully explore the tap/untap theme, which I split up into two sections, Tap You Bad, and Untap Me Good. I am very eloquent. But in the end I chose not to cut the elves from Screlves, because that would be throwing away the reason I wanted to build the deck in the first place. No thank you!
