Description
{"ops":[{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"Summation/Exposition Dump: "},{"insert":"\n\nThe deck has many lines to victory and only needs one active everything counter on any land to function properly. The player can Blow up Opponents lands, Go-wide with Zombie, Scutes, Beasts, and Plants. Marit Lage is surprisingly resilient late in games. I would not recommend popping Dark Depths early though. Terastodon with Aggressive Biomancy is a lot of fun. The deck consistently gets Field of the Dead online and usually copies it. Once I added Ancient Greenwarden, I was seeing 4-6 zombies per land. Scapeshift and Hour of Promise go hard in this deck. Sets you up for either a Big X spell or Field of the Dead and mass Landfall triggers. Lazotep Quarry is absurd once you draw Life from the Loam. When you get into Dredge-Go, you can create an Everything Token on Mystic Sanctuary, Sacrifice it to your Quarry, Create a Token, Life from the Loam, Repeat. When a deck is generating value without using any Cards from Hand its such a blast to play. I have updated the mana base to have 44 unique lands. The golden goose of the deck is Field of the Dead. Because the deck has potential to make several copies of this land rather easily and I find that card to be a win condition 70% of the time. With Mystic Sanctuary, Crucible, Life from the Loam and Lazotep I just do not need an Eternal Witness --"},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"not so sure about this any longer--"},{"insert":". Regardless of the outcome of the game, the deck is tier S+++ on my fun list. You can cast massive X spells, Huge Creatures, Go-Wide with Landfall Triggers, Board Wipe or Bounce everything, and the best part is the Commander is not threatening so, other players have no reason to block her or waste single targeted removal on the Queen.\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"Updates and Thoughts for Cards In/Out:"},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"Salt and Power Levels:"},{"insert":" After 12 games in a full pod, this deck does not feel like it does degenerate or egregious actions to the board. So far, my experience is that the deck does not draw a lot of attention to what it is doing until the late game when everyone is a reasonable threat. I have not had any player complain about the deck either. If I were to grade the deck power, I would say it is a solid 6 and ventures into the 7 or 8 territory with a ridiculous hand. It would not and could not compete with any cEDH deck.\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"Rules Clarification regarding Ancient Greenwarden: "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"If you control two Ancient Greenwardens, a land entering the battlefield causes abilities to trigger three times, not four. A third Ancient Greenwarden causes abilities to trigger four times, a fourth causes abilities to trigger five times, and so on."},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"Eternal Witness:"},{"insert":" When first constructing the deck, I thought Eternal Witness was overrated. After playing a dozen games in pods, this deck runs into Windfalls and Wheel effects and that card just fixes the deck when you lose too many great spells to effects like that. \n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true,"bold":true},"insert":"Seasons Past // Mystical Tutor:"},{"insert":" This is an insane recursion package for 7 mana. I don't think anyone can out grind you once that is online with Three Tree City. \n\nUpdate 7/18/24: Recent additions have been great so far, I have not casted Pir's Whim or Tempt with Discovery in a full pod yet. I am interested in what will happen with the game politics of those two additions. Adding another \"Copy\" effect in Doppelgang felt really good. I am not sure about Frogantua at this point in the deck building. I am beginning to think that Eternal Witness is just better because it always does something if it resolves. \n\nUpdate 7/13/24: Removed Farseek and Vivien Reed for Tempt with Discovery & Wrenn and Seven. The Farseek had a game or two where is turned into a dead draw and Vivien most of the time just sifted for lands. The deck has enough recursion that I would rather have the cards in my graveyard than on the bottom of the library. The addition of the Ancient Greenwarden has proven to be a powerful force multiplier. Cast Greenwarden into Scapeshift netting 16-32 zombies was really awesome.\n\nUpdate: 7/2/24: Removed Ramunap Excavator for Ancient Greenwarden. The static effect of Ramunap was duplicitous with Crucible, I decided to add a force multiplier that I could Tutor.\n\nUpdate 6/30/24: Removed Mana Reflection and Magus of the Candelabra. Replaced with Moment's Peace and Fierce Empath. (Needed more early game protection.)\n\nUpdate 6/29/24: Removed Seer’s Sundial, Baldur’s Gate, and Woodfall Primus. Replaced with Conduit of Worlds, Ezuri’s Predation, and Urza’s Cave. \n\nUpdate 6/24/24: Removed the Simic Nissa Planewalker for the Nissa that doubles Forest Mana. This allows additional synergy with Magus of the Candelabra. \n\n"}]}
