Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"ย Welcome to "},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Crafting Calamity"},{"insert":", my take on a Treasure-themed Commander deck. In this build, I decided to work with an uncommon and underrated commander, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Jan Jansen, Chaos Crafter"}},{"insert":", and take a different approach to the ever-so-popular Aristocrats theme. Rather than focusing on sacrificing and reanimating small creatures, this deck looks to sacrifice and create artifacts, particularly artifact tokens, for value. We utilize abilities and value engines that care about artifacts in order to win, mainly consisting of three categories:\n\nDamage triggered by artifacts entering/leaving the battlefield (i.e. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Reckless Fireweaver"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Marionette Master"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Disciple of the Vault"}},{"insert":")"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Beaters that become bigger the more artifacts you control (i.e. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Bronze Guardian"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Darksteel Juggernaut"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Megatog"}},{"insert":")"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Win-the-game triggers (i.e. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Revel in Riches"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Hellkite Tyrant"}},{"insert":" )"},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nWhile we build towards this gameplan, we leverage Jan Jansen's natural creation of Treasure tokens into the sufficient ramp needed to keep the ball rolling.\n\nThe coming and going of artifacts in this deck mainly relies on the commander's activated abilities; therefore, in order to create (and sacrifice) lots of artifact tokens, I've included several ways to untap creatures, in order to tap and untap Jan Jansen as many times as possible. Since we'll already be untapping creatures, I've favored some mana dorks over mana rocks for synergy purposes. Most of these mana dorks are also artifact creatures, and can be sacrificed to our commander for Treasure tokens in a pinch, squeezing even more mana out of our ramp pieces. (i.e. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Ornithopter of Paradise"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Palladium Myr"}},{"insert":")\n\nNote that this deck is intended to be about a 7 in power level. Most of the objectively better fast mana rocks such as Mana Crypt are not included intentionally. This is also, for the most part, "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"not"},{"insert":" a combo deck. There is only one combo in this deck ("},{"insert":{"card-link":"Jan Jansen, Chaos Crafter"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Liquimetal Torque"}},{"insert":" + "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Clock of Omens"}},{"insert":") and it's relatively slow; it results in infinite TAPPED Treasure and Construct tokens, requiring you to wait a full turn cycle before you can win the game. This gives your opponents adequate time to find an answer, and due to this, I felt it was a relatively fair combo and decided to include it in the final product, despite being a casual deck.\n"}]}
