Description

{"ops":[{"insert":" This primer is likely unnecessary, as the deck is fairly simple to look at and understand, but! I enjoy talking about it so here we go.\n\n Some pretext for this deck, in my daily life, I am a CNC machinist working in a typical job shop. As such, I am subjected to the daily issues of mismanagement, design flaws, and a lack of adherence to codes— be they standard policy, or safety related. So building, and playing this deck has been writing a love letter about my disdain for hypercapitalist mindset that is prominent the American \"job shop.\" I think that covers the backstory and revolutionary thoughts, let's get on to the deck!\n\n Welcome to the T&K Bomb Factory! Our mission is to bring you a big win at a very low cost— and we mean it, a VERY LOW COST, even to our detriment, as we rock a clean 2.5-3.0 average mana cost. But don't you worry! Our massive, very expendable workforce and recyclable product lines will generate enough value to guarantee you'll be leaving a satisfied customer as you blow up the competition 1, 2, or even 4 damage at a time!\n\n Alright I'm done with the bit. We are gonna go through this section by section.\n\n So to start off, commander choice. I wanted to build a weld deck but I didn't want to focus on strictly the commander like some decks (Daretti, Scrapper Savant). Toggo incidentally makes rocks that can be sacrificed to Keskit's digging ability. Card draw in the command zone based on a sacrifice outlet is always a good setup for value engines. This deck is simply trying to win by sheer value of things you can do to trigger damage, so we need to dig for those pieces quickly.\n\n The expendable workforce category only covers two highlight creatures, but upon looking at the stats, you'll see it really covers everything that we are okay with sacrificing outside dire circumstances. Squee is a crackhead employee that needs money, gets paid, leaves the job on a bender, then gets rehired because we need him for button pushing and he is cheap labor. Goblin Kaboomist is the not-banned version of our beloved Dockside Extortionist. He makes an artifact, can make more, and can be killed. That's all we needed dockside for to begin with (though landmines aren't as flexible as treasures, RIP).\n\n Our funding is all of the basic mana rocks plus Brass's Bounty. Pretty standard stuff. They can all be looped back in after being sacrificed for either their own abilities, or because you need a keskit activation. We also have some bonus funding in our recyclable product lines down the road in cards like Prized Statue and Myconsinth Wellspring, as well as in the R&D category with Big Score and Unexpected Windfall. \n\n The Heavy Machinery category is more focused on cards with a higher mana value, big effects, and most importantly, things we do NOT want to sacrifice to keskit unless we are at the very end and digging for a final weld or damage effect. Aetherworks Marvel will casually gain energy at least 3 at a time from Keskit and from other welders sacrificing. Panharmonicon will double our damage output triggers as well as things like Prized Statue or Treasure Keeper. Kuldotha Forgemaster is effectively a secret commander and is strictly better than Keskit himself. KCI is in here for further funding and combo inclusions. Bolas's Citadel is just great fun. We are playing rakdos. Be impulsive, gamble, pay life, get value, and sacrifice for that sweet sweet 10 life.\n\n The lands are just what I had on-hand. You can build the base however you feel like. Ghost Town and Terrain Generator are decent lands for triggering Toggo as well.\n\n The OSHA Violations category is a very lean spot. We sweep these violations under the rug because acknowledging them means potential downsizing of other areas in our company. We don't run much interaction, but we also don't care as long as we continue to fly under the radar and have enough chump blocking tokens. Ghirapur Aethergrid is an excellent piece of targeted removal for key creatures. We will have plenty to tap down before they sac to various effects (which we can also do at instant speed). We do have some other pieces, once again, in our product lines like Implement of Combustion, Ratchet Bomb which people HATE, and my all time favorite bomb for this deck Dragonspark Reactor. Some of our Sales Reps that deal damage can target things as well.\n\n The Product Catalogue focuses on the prime targets for our recycling value engines. It only takes a couple of these moving in and out of the grave to cause some large turns. There are plenty of higher value things I could include in this section, but I wanna keep the mana curve lean and keep the deck fast, so I've opted to do less big splashy reanimator and more value engine. I may add some splashy over time as my meta shifts and people make it harder for my engine to move. Effectively, we wanna sell just enough product that we can maintain a leg in the race, but not too much that Elon Musk will buy us out upon threat of a miscalculated SpaceX landing.\n\n R&D is our card advantage department. It's fairly lean, but as usual we have double duty cards all over the place because we value every employee having multitask capability so we dont have to hire more people. The biggest thing I will say for this category is on Wishclaw Talisman. DO NOT GIVE IT TO YOUR OPPONENTS (unless you're feeling charitable, but this is capitalism so nah). Instead, put it's ability on the stack, maintain priority, then activate Keskit or Kuldotha Forgemaster or any other sacrifice outlet to get it into your graveyard. If you play it right, you may get to have it return immediately to do a second tutor in the same turn!\n\n The Rehire category is simply \"can return creatures specifically.\" Within this lies a big topic of discussion that I'm gonna cover now rather than later— infinite combo with Nim Deathmantle. We are running Imotekh the Stormlord, Krark Clan Ironworks, and Nim Deathmantle. With a single other nontoken artifact creature like the Myr Retriever or [insert your choice here], we can loop for infinite ETB, LTB, artifact deaths, necron artifact creature tokens, etc., etc. This is the most sure-fire way to guarantee your win. Digging for this is the primary goal after getting the basic engine online.\n\n Alright the Sales Department, aptly named for being the one part of our company that will interact with the outside world, and usually to screw them over on price. These guys deal damage. Thats it. Target, mass, varying damage. They are your key to success and you should not be letting them go EVER. In fact, give them a raise. They do all the work anyway, right? Employees of the Year are Marionette Master who can be very flexible, and Mayhem Devil who is a shark in the water for our other sacrifice themed opponents *cough* I mean business competition. Reckless Fireweaver gets an honorable mention at our award ceremony because he is the most efficient.\n\n Finally the hard working backbone of our company whom without, the products would be effectively worthless, the Scrappers! These classic rock blaring goblins, cocaine addicted skeletons, AI controlled arms, and the single token woman per shop on the art of an enchantment (she works from home) are responsible for the bulk effort of making sure we can dig dig dig with Keskit, and continue to maintain our board presence. We rarely will let them go until the times get very hard. Pia's Revolution is a pet card in here because I run an Athreos God of Passage list. Goblin Welder is usually the All-star, but nothing beats having the artifact creatures cycling eachother in and out all the time.\n\n So yeah TL:DR, it's artifactocrats. Ding everyone, dig for more dingers and combos. It can be considered budget if you remove like two fetch lands. It's casual. It's explosive. Undersell yourself, build your engine, don't get targeted until you can win. Bolas's Citadel go brrrrrrr.\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"As you make your way to the end of the tour, an old television plays a prerecorded tape. It seems to be of a shadowy spikey figure with phyrexian features."},{"insert":"\n \"I hope you've enjoyed this tour of our facilities here at the T&K Bomb Factory! The exit is just there past the door to the Forge room. It's labeled \"Materials Room,\" but rest assured it's just a door that goes outside where Toggo is busy at work finding Rocks.... soo yeah.. just go there and don't mind the spikes\"\n\n**Next swaps I'm looking to make are as follows:\nSolemn Simulacrum > Slagstone Refinery — i think this will be better at ramping in the long run and I can sacrifice powerstones more often than welding the sad robot due to its 4 mana cost.\n"}]}
