Meanwhile Heir of the Ancients and her original Lithomancer cards are great at cheating Equip costs. The Lithomancer, meanwhile, can fetch out Equipment that has been destroyed or that's stuck in your hand. Nahiri The Harbinger, meanwhile, is just an all-around decent roleplayer. The weakest of the Man-Lands I'm currently running is far and away Needle Spires -- it costs a lot to activate (which can make it difficult to suit up) and is fragile. Card's good. Since that Venn diagram is pretty much a circle, that means I've been stuffing every copy I can get my hands on into my decks. It should be in WAAAAAY more decks than it is. I like popping it on Karenahiri, because Angry Karen going to town on my opponent with a crowbar and coming away with treasure will never not be morbidly funny to me. \"I! WANT! TO! SEE! THE! I have considered running Bludgeon Brawl in the deck to give her effectively full Affinity for Artifacts, or Toggo to make Rocks all day, but I'd probably also want stuff like Balan, OG Kemba, Wyleth and Valduk in here first. I'm testing out Infested Fleshcutter in this slot right now. The Scytheclaw removal was because I've been unimpressed with Scytheclaw as a creature and as an equipment -- Jor Kadeen is just all-around better, especially since he draws cards. The most lateral move is adding in theExplorer's Scope, which is partly to add another ramp piece but also a away to thin away lands from the top of the deck so Nahiri isn't hitting as many. Some of these aren't strictly by the numbers -- the critterlands are only critters when you activate them, for instance, and some of the utility land effects are just activated abilities you can play at instant speed rather than according-to-Hoyle Instant cards -- but they're marked there for ease of reference. A third of the deck is artifacts, but that still means 2/3rds of the cards drawn are misses, and I only ever get one of Chiss-Goria anyway, even if I get multiple hits that might be nice to cast. I needed a good exile effect in that spot, and Vanish not hitting creatures was a problem. And that came down to the \"untap on a hit\" angle. I have had so many times where I've had to make sub-optimal plays because I either needed to cast something before attacking (and thus miss out on value when I hit something off Karenahiri triggers) or after attacks (because I wanted to save mana for said value but got nothing good) -- Sword of Feast and Famine allows me to double dip much easier. It replaces Reckless Crew, which was one of those \"never really pulled, and was never relevant when I did\" spells in this deck. Because Equipment doesn't require tapping to use, I thought I'd add some synergies to explore tapping artifacts for value. Caparoctli Sunborn and Inpsiring Statuary are both things that can tap artifacts for value. Inspiring Statuary can help cast stuff I exile with Karenahiri triggers, easing mana costs for non-Equipment cards. Caporactli is sometimes a free cast effect, and sometimes a free draw effect. And since most of my removal and protection spells are 3 mana or less, this can turn combat on its head real fast (or set me up to protect against furute problems). It also can help clear the way for Karenahiri triggers, getting rid of land gluts on the top of the deck so Nahiri's exile triggers will hit relevant cards."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"To make room, I've cut Infested Fleshcutter and Stone Haven Outfitters. Both produce treasures on attacks, but I can also use Caparoctli to tap her for a treasure, and I have Sram and Reyav in here as dwarves who can potentially add extra treasure drops. Also, Pick has to connect to get the treasure, while magda only has to attack -- I find i much prefer attack triggers to combat damage triggers for this sort of effect. I'm not completely off Goldvein Pick, but this experiment has moved it to the Maybeboard."},{"attributes":{"list":"bullet"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"I have added in Zephyr Boots instead of Ogre-Head Helm. I rarely found instances where I'd want to sacrifice the helm for the cards (early game, when the creature can connect, I usually have a much fuller hand, and when I needed the cards, I couldn't reliably connect with the helm), and It was usually too expensive to equip, so it wound up being a random 2/2 most of the time. I added Zephyr Boots in the slot because I don't have to sacrifice anything, it's a loot and not a rummage, I don't have to ditch my whole hand on three random cards, and to top it off, it grants evasion.
