Specifically a Futurescribe. I mean, Hexhaven was being overlaid on top of Strixhaven at the end there, and Strixhaven is exactly the kind of place that would be studying a hedron for its magical and archeological significance. So if a savy Futurescribe was able to get to such a hedron in time it might be able to protect from their home's exigent doom...\n\nSorry, this is a deck primer, not a fanfic. But I included all that to say that I really like Fatehold as a faction and Futurescribes as an idea. So, when I saw "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Desperate Futurescribe"}},{"insert":" I knew I needed to build a deck around her.\n\nLike many of her fellow Fatehold cadets, Desperate Futurescribe gives us some kind of benefit when we scry or surveil. In this case, we get to hand out a +1/+1 counter to another creature we control at the beginning of our combat if we have looked into the future this turn. Futhermore, because its 2026, she still pumps another creature even if we haven't done the thing yet this turn. Finally, she flies now.\nTaken together, these effects give us a pretty good idea of what we want to include in our deck: ways to scry or surveil and evasive creatures to put +1/+1 counters on. So that's what I did.\n\nFatehold believes that the power of prophecy should be used for the benefit of all... but when it comes to combat we don't shy away from using it to benefit ourselves.
