Toonces is a chaotic, fun loving, inherently good, tabaxi teacher of the arcane with sometimes questionable judgement and potent, if not even more questionable, magical abilities. The d&d character ran all sorts of spells, though a recurring favorite is burning hands (or paws). In my head cannon, the mtg version heads back to academia on a sabbatical from adventuring to get back to teaching and to broaden his talents into schools of magic beyond evocation. Toonces takes on silvology, elvish history, merfolk language studies, and microbiology... you know, because of when you attack with creature with power 1 or less...\n\nThere are a bunch of mechanics at work here: Counters, the other kind of counters, a third secret kind of counter, landfall, and card draw. Admittedly, win conditions were secondary in my mindset in creating this deck but even if there aren't many haymakers, when would having lots of mana and drawing lots of cards be a bad thing? The merfolk and elf creatures help out with some ramp, tagging creatures with +1/+1s, and are . Lastly, a trio of planeswalkers take on the role of Toonces' contemporaries and follow professors as well as add in some needed oomph. \n\nIf I were to make this deck more competitive, I would push heavier for solid 1 or 0 power creatures, stack counters on them, and profit. \n\n"}]}
