{"ops":[{"insert":"Gameplan\nWith the amount of instants and sorceries that make goblin creature tokens (this deck runs all eight that are 3 mana or less and don’t have additional conditions), I thought it would be fun to build a budget deck that can recast such spells multiple times a turn. Most cast-from-graveyard effects exile a spell after reusing it, but Vadrok does not. This deck hopes to chain mutate spells, making goblins along the way, then return the mutate stack to hand to repeat the process (the final Vadrok trigger of the loop can cast a bounce spell). This combo is very mana intensive, but cost reducers and rituals (most notably Brightstone Ritual and Battle Hymn) can eventually create a critical mass combo win. In practice, the deck is quite slow to present a threat; looping mutate creatures requires a lot of support pieces, and constantly bouncing your commander limits board presence. If it survives long enough to combo off though (usually in the 8-11 turn range), the deck can produce infinite goblins and either swing out for the win, fling them with Airdrop Condor, or ping opponents with Guttersnipe.\n\nWARNING\nMutate decks, especially Vadrok loops, feature a lot of triggers that eat away at play time, even when resolved efficiently. Do not play this deck or others like it without having practiced first.\n\nTutor Packages/Other Notes\nBetween Vadrok's ability and Sevinne's Reclamation, most key pieces can be reused from the graveyard. Mutate creatures are the exception. Because of this, it's important to always have an on-demand way to return the mutate stack to hand. For combo purposes, only one is required (Snap works best since it also acts as a ritual), but an extra can help stifle removal. All four of the deck's tutors can find a bounce piece. Sanar and Wild Research can find Snap, while Micromancer and Quiet Speculation can find Saving Grasp. The former three would rather get Brightstone Ritual, but having at least one bounce spell usually takes priority. Wild Research can also find Kozilek's Unsealing for mana or Secrets of the Dead for card draw (the random discard only hurts if you lose a mutate creature or Ovika, most cards are okay in the graveyard). Quiet Speculation can also find Prismatic Strands for protection and Faithless Looting for filtering, but its most exciting target is Sevinne's Reclamation. When Vadrok casts it from the graveyard, two permanents can be returned to play, including lands and utility creatures that Vadrok can't normally touch. \n\tFetchlands like Evolving Wilds provide Sevinne's Reclamation more consistent targets, bounce lands allow Snap and Frantic Search to net more mana when cast, and Lotus Field does both these things.\n\tWithout a renewable source of white or blue mana, the deck cannot go fully infinite (see Vadrok's mutate cost). One of Snap, False Dawn, Open the Omenpaths, Frantic Search, or Defiler of Dreams is required, though the latter two can lead to decking out if not replaced mid-combo. This color constraint is the main reason creatures like Vulpikeet and Cubwarden were cut from the decklist.\n\tBuffs from Regal Leosaur and Huntmaster Liger can add up quickly in the late game. With enough goblins and pump effects, even an incomplete combo can create a lethal board.\n\tI usually build my mutate stack on a goblin token. This makes removal less devastating and also circumvents the need to recast the base creature.\n\tThe feather tokens from Everquill Phoenix are rarely useful, but they do make fun targets for Gleeful Demolition.\n"}]}
