The Phyrexians are different horrors than the denizens of Innistrad face normally, but they have faced countless horrors nonetheless. Any Cathar will gladly lay down their life for peace and prosperity and to avenge the death and corruption of Avacyn. Sigarda is our new champion and our commander Thalia, somehow tamed Gitrog and turned him into a weird Rancor looking thing. We will gloss over the unusual pairing of these two as did the MTG storyline. Mostly we needed access to black to include the Battle card, but also Innistrad feels very black and Abzan felt like a natural place to take this deck. Human tribal is our sub-theme and we are playing aristocrats. To be honest Innistrad is my favorite plane after Mirrodin. For the same reason I love Phyrexians I love the Gothic horror and Lovecraftian horror fused into one plane.
