It has a linear focus, and doesn't use slots trying to cover weaknesses. Think cEDH always pushing to win, but with no infinites or fast mana. \n\nVarolz has two specific keys in this deck as commander. \n-The first line \"Each Creature in your graveyard has scavenge\" seeks to take advantage of high power low mana creatures. These creatures tend to have some sort of downside. Often, it involves sacrificing a creature. Several cEDH decks have tried to take advantage of this , but Varolz is ultimately outclassed. \n\nThis deck seeks to take advantage of both abilities, while including massive draw. An ideal play line would be scavenging Death's Shadow with Terrasymbiosis in play, stacking 13 +1/+1 counters and drawing 13 cards for one black mana. This gameplan is mirrored with Jenova, Shadowheart, &Marketback. There are no ways to keep more than 7 cards, so ditching the most efficient scavengable creatures is ideal. The gameplan is also resilient to boardwipes/removal, since Varolz can eat the creatures in the yard. Try to draw cards before the wipes, as a grip full of cards is better than untapping a chungus. \n\nWinning the game is through combat damage. Stacking +1/+1 counters on evasive creatures and turning them sideways. Since there is upside to these creatures hitting the graveyard, holding back blockers will only slow you down. The idea is to be pushing 12, 24, 48 damage as quickly as possible, and overrunning the board before locks or battlecruisers can be established. \n\nLike every stompy deck, stax is a big concern. focus the stax player down first.
