{"ops":[{"insert":"Cheapen spells with the Water Crystal and copy artifacts such as sol ring to give insane ramp. Draw until you win, tutor up big artifacts, or swarm with a horde of tiny artifacts. \n\nWhile Edgar seems expensive, not having to plan around him early gives you time to set up a combo or a board state that will largely fly under the radar due to its low power. Once you have a board loaded with artifacts or blinks, you can cast Edgar to load your hand and run away with the game from there. Given how many artifact tutors are in this deck, you should always be able to get either Thought Vessel or Spellbook onto the battlefield; at least until you can get Reliquary Tower for something permanent. From there, you can utilize blinks and other draw effects to draw more and more cards until you win. Obviously, Laboratory Maniac is the main win-con here. Anything you can do to draw as many cards as possible furthers you along to this win-con.\n\nThe many blinks in this deck are also good for manipulating triggers like Solumn Simulacrum and Clever Impersonator/Phyrexian Metamorph to trigger Simulacrum Synthesizer.\n\n23 islands seems like a lot for an artifact deck, and it honestly is. I like the mana safety net it provides, however. If you are more ballsy than I, then you can trade islands for more ramp. The nature of this deck requires that you need a lot of mana to cast the artifacts that give you more mana and feed Edgar's card draw which in turn requires more mana. Since this is bracket 3 as well, that means that there's no mass land destruction, meaning that if you build a solid land base then you will permanently have that mana available, unlike artifacts that can be destroyed. Plus, the islands also make for good discard fodder if the situation allows for it. You should always be drawing enough cards so that either not drawing enough or drawing too many islands should never be an issue.\n\nReminder that Trinket Mage can also tutor up artifact lands.\n\nThe artifacts side revolves around copying artifacts to either add to your ramp early on or copy your big artifacts/token makers for secondary win conditions. Blightsteel Colossus is the main secondary finisher, which you can either cheat into play with the Forgemaster or use the copies of your Sol Ring you've built over the game to pay for it earlier than anyone should reasonably expect. Cyberdrive Awakener is your tertiary win condition, should you fail to utilize the two others but have a lot of artifacts on the board.\n\nYour lesser win conditions are Simulacrum Synthesizer and Psychosis Crawler. Simulacrum Syntheziser pairs nicely with the cards that make a bunch of little artifact tokens creating massive beasts that either force removal or swing for huge damage. Psychosis Crawler is blatantly obvious how it wins you the game.\n\nThis deck has some redundancy built into it, mostly with the Reality Chip, Crystal Skull, and Mystic Forge, but that's to ensure you can almost always look at the top card of your deck and play it during a game. Crystal Skull lets you tap for mana. Reality Chip lets you cast any kind of land or spell from the top of your deck and is a good defensive body early. Mystic Forge lets you exile obnoxious lands or otherwise not useful cards to bring you closer to one of your win conditions.\n\nOf course, if you have the mana to be greedy, Cyclonic Rift is either a huge safety net or a lead-up to guaranteed lethal against an opponent. The One Ring is self explanatory, but it also gives a huge discount for Metalwork Colossus.\n\nWhen it comes to tutoring up artifacts, it depends on the tutor you use. The highest priority artifacts are Sol Ring, the Water Crystal, Simulacrum Synthesizer, and Blightsteel Colossus. Obviously depending on game state, you can justify tutoring up any artifact, but these are the safest options in a neutral state depending on how aggressive you wanna be. Simulacrum Synthesizer and Blightsteel Colossus will put a target on your back. \n\nTeferi is there to further play into the card draw. Draw as much as possible to feed into his abilities and his miniature Cyclonic Rift. Pair this with the Water Crystal's ability to delete an opponent's board, mill them out, and make them rage.\n\nEmry is there to provide a layer of protection against mill, but there's not much that can be done about mill with this deck as unfortunate as it is to say.\n\nIf the other players are pissing you off, threaten to use boompile to reset the board state to neutral and extend the game by two more hours. Only do this if you have a combo in-hand that can win you the game in either that turn or the next, as this WILL make the other players hate you forever. Boompile is also fun for baiting removal from any reasonable player who doesn't want to play a 4-hour game.\n\nOverall, the deck isn't as interactive as more spell-focused blue decks, but the combo potential is fun and the commander is niche so you can be a total hipster with him.\n"}]}
