Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"Gameplan: reach storm 5 then cast Dragonstorm. Stack ETB triggers to kill the table. If that doesn't finish everyone off then swing with the haste from Dragonlord Kolaghan. \n\nThe commander used in this list is mainly used for ramp and the colour identity. Any Grixis creature will work as the commander.\n\nThe idea for this deck came from a desire to use dragons as the finisher for a spellslinger style deck instead of the usual play pattern of Ramp->play dragons-> turn dragons sideways. That play pattern is still the backup plan but it's only one line of play. The primary line of play is to cast a series of ritual effects and other cheap spells to reach storm count 5 with enough mana to play [[Dragonstorm]]. This allows you to pull 6 dragons from the library to the battlefield. By sequencing the dragons entering the battlefield such that [[Lathliss]] enters first, followed by [[terror of the peaks, then [[twinflame tyrant]], then [[scourge of valkas]] then [[Dragonlord Kolaghan]], then [[Astral dragon]] then copying any two permanents with the Astral Dragon triggers. You can then layer the triggers as shown below.\n\n\nDragon ETB -> set triggers such that they resolve left to right -> resulting damage \n\n1. Lathliss\n\n2. Terror -> lathliss(1), terror(token1) -> (5dmg)\n\n3. Twinflame Tyrant -> lathliss(2), terror(TT), terror(token2) -> (5+3)*2=16dmg \n\n4. Scourge of Valkas -> lathliss(3), terror(token3), terror(scourge), scourge, scourge \n-> (5+4+7+7)*2=46 \n\n5. Kolaghan -> lathliss(4), scourge, scourge, terror(token4), terror(DLK) -> (9+9+6+5)*2=58 \n\n6. Astral -> lathliss(5), astral copy 1, astral copy2, scourge, scourge, scourge, scourge, terror(AD), terror(token5), terror(copy1), terror(copy2) -> (13+13+13+13+4+5+3+3)*2=134 \n\nTotal dmg: 5+16+46+58+134 = 259\n\nIf you for some reason can't kill the table with the above triggers, [[dragonlord Kolaghan]] will provide haste to all your creatures so that you can swing with them immediately.\n\nAlternately, there is an infinite combo with [[Astral Dragon]] and [[Cursed Mirror]] allowing you to create an infinite number of 3/3 Astral Dragon's with haste. These dragons will trigger effects like [[terror of the peaks]], [[Scourge of valkas]] and [[Dragon Tempest]] or can swing for leathal to the remaining players.\n\nThe goal of the deck is to play dragonstorm and instantly kill the table. If for some reason that line of play is shut down, then the backup plan is to tutor for the Astral Dragon and cursed mirror combo. If that plan is also shut down the final play line is to search for dragons through the card draw package and play the dragons using the rituals/artifact ramp. This allows the deck to stay competitive even if the main line of play is shut down.\n"}]}
