{"ops":[{"insert":"Hello, and welcome to September's Archidekt Deckbuilding Contest.\n\nThis is a monthly contest with a different theme each month. The goal is to build a Commander-legal deck that fulfills the prompt in a creative or unique fashion, and at the end of each month, three finalists will be selected for you to vote on. The intent was for her to support a Ninja deck, since she deals damage to each opponent when a creature you control leaves the battlefield, something that interacts nicely with the Ninjitsu mechanic. Since this was the intent of Vela when released, a Vela Ninja deck wouldn't fulfill the creative and interesting portion of the contest requirement, but it's an excellent example of a Commander that supports a particular creature type despite not being that type or having it in the card text.\n\nAs we noted in previous contests, we have so far been very forgiving regarding picking finalists with meager deck descriptions, but moving forward we're going to be a lot more discerning. Every month this contest gets larger, and that makes sorting through entries more and more of a time commitment. {"ops":[{"insert":"First thank you and your staff for doing this each month! It is very fun to not only brew for these but to see how the community responds. Do ya'll really look at each submission? If so that's impressive as indeed it has been getting bigger and more popular. Again thanks for all ya'll do and happy Friday\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"We do really look at each submission, and it is indeed a bit of a time sink. Some go faster than other, though. There's some amount of decks that we can just kind of skip over though because the brewer didn't write a description or follow the prompt. Last month for example there were some percentage of decks who were using commanders that weren't from the Mystery Booster Commander Edition, so you can skip those too, etc. But by and large we're reading 95% of them.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Hi! I was playing around with the idea of finding an overlap between two creature types (i.e. Soldiers and Humans) and building a deck helmed by a commander who directly supports one type while the deck's synergies completely ignore it and only focus on the other. So it would for example be a Solider typal deck helmed by a human typal commander. All the Soldiers in it just also happen to be humans.\nWould that work for this contest or is it too close to just a normal typal deck?\n"}]}
