The result is some fishy beatdown chock full of obscure tech.\n\nI will be fully honest, this is a lower-power deck: it plays merfolk, maybe interacts with you some, and can mostly try to beat down with its various aquatic monsters. However, while lower power, it still has the makings of a good basic EDH deck. It has card draw, it has answers for various threats and card types. It has a good curve, and it has reasonable threats including Galina herself hijacking somebody else's. It is, in all senses, a reasonable and playable deck and not just an art gallery.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"I present to you, Jace Lore Tribal. This deck features only cards that depict Jace or have some resemblance to Wizard's favorite boy. The deck centers around Jace Planeswalkers of course, as well as cards that refer to him in the art and even the flavor text for some special choices. However, not every single card in the deck centers around Jace there just aren't enough Jace cards quite yet to make the cut. So we look at Jace's history as he travels through the multiverse all the way back to when the mind mage first started to gain his powers of magic. \nWhile unfortunately in commander, only certain planeswalkers can be your commander, this one has a special Jace that can be your commander. Introducing Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. This Jace allowed me to have a center theme around the deck and where I wanted to go with it; taking a special consideration on mind magic. This means that I would use cards that would take control of other people's creatures, such as control magic, and looking into people's minds and taking control of the players thoughts, such as looking at their hands or using their library through cards like Lay Bare and Mind's Dilation. Along with that, Jace himself is able to make people forget and extract thoughts, such as how he once invaded the one and only Niv-Mizzet's mind, which I represent in this deck through the idea of milling opponents and even wanting to mill my own deck at times as Jace has made himself forget memories in his story. However, don't think I'm glossing over that idea of Jace invading Niv-Mizzet's mind, since he was able to do that early on in his story and show his prowess, thus motivating me to put Enter the Infinite in the deck as Niv-Mizzet himself says "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"\"Don't just have one idea - have all of them\" "},{"insert":"which may not entirely fit but I wanted to include it somehow. Also, there is a lithoform engine because Jace once fought Nissa, a planeswalker who is all about nature and hates anything mechanical, to defend the machine.\nFinally, there is an odd creature tribal hybrid in this deck that may seems odd at first glance. but upon further thinking adds up. I centered around sphinx's and illusions as sphinx's play a huge part in Jace's design and his own teacher, Alhammerett, is a sphinx! And Jace is known for his illusions so I couldn't help but include those as a subtle nod to the mind mage's signature technique.\nOverall, the deck is just based on getting out planeswalkers, specifically Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, to draw the whole deck and win through Enter the Infinite or win through milling out opponents through value in casting many instant and sorceries to win the game. Oh, and there is an Atemsis, All-Seeking since we're drawing a bunch of cards to just flat out make someone lose the game. Hope everyone who sees this and tries themself enjoys it!\n\nJace Lore Tribal edh\nhttps://archidekt.com/decks/4275693/jace_lore_tribal_edh \n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Have you ever seen artwork for a character where they may be partially shirtless and something just seems a little bit off? There's a chance that you may have noticed that the character you are looking at doesn't have nipples. Well Magic has had a long list of artists and some of them decided to draw people with nipples and this list celebrates that. It's funny to look through to see which artists decided to just avoid painting them and I did just that. I was bored with some friends one night and I decided to go through scryfall to look through objectively too many cards depicting shirtless characters and I had my friends vote on nipple or no nipple when the decisions weren't clear. How many trees are there? Now, picture an Elf deck that's hit its stride. How many Elves are on the battlefield? In both cases, I'd bet the answer is more than one. In fact, I'd wager that you've imagined a vast throng of trees and Elves where no single one stands out as an individual. I certainly do. For this prompt, I wanted to challenge myself to flip that perception. Thus, I've built an Elf deck that features nonland cards with only a single Elf (& no other creatures/characters) in the art as well as lands with only a single tree. {"ops":[{"insert":"My very first Magic set was Tempest way back in 1997, and I immediately fell in love with the game's lore and story, especially the way it was told not just through flavor text, but card art -- so I humbly present for your consideration\n\n"},{"attributes":{"link":"https://www.archidekt.com/decks/4498641"},"insert":"The Weatherlight Saga"},{"insert":";"},{"attributes":{"header":2},"insert":"\n"},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"being a celebration of the Skyship Weatherlight, her crew, and the story of how they saved Dominaria from the first Phyrexian Invasion."},{"attributes":{"header":3},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nOur commander is obviously Sisay, Weatherlight Captain, who pulls her crew out of our deck and aboard her beloved skyship. Every card in this deck depicts either the "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Weatherlight"},{"insert":", a member of the original crew from the Rath Cycle, or a part of the Legacy. (Every character and Legacy piece is represented, so space after that was limited! Rofellos is banned in EDH, so he's only represented by his Gift.) \n\nSeveral cards depict major moments in the story, like Karn's capture by Volrath and Gerrard's duel with Urza in the Phyrexian Arena. The only outlier is Sword of the Chosen, which I included as an honorary Legacy piece because of its importance to Crovax and Selenia's story, shaping the "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Weatherlight"},{"insert":"'s destiny in turn. (It also boosts Sisay's power by 2 every turn for free!) \n\nAlthough this deck is 99% flavor and 1% synergy, I still think it's a playable build for a low-power casual table! Sisay alone is quite powerful, and can begin finding crew members as soon as we have one of our two-color characters like Hanna or Tahngarth, First Mate. Captain Sisay grabs any crewmate we need, while Weatherlight and Board the Weatherlight both find us historic spells to cast -- either our crew or the Legacy. Some Legacy pieces are nearly useless, so it's a good thing we have the original Skyship herself to exile all the artifacts we "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"don't"},{"insert":" want to draw; failing that, at least Karn, Silver Golem can turn those random artifacts into creatures (which, unlike our metal friend, can attack into blockers).\n\n For the mana base, I used only lands that were available from "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Weatherlight"},{"insert":" to "},{"attributes":{"italic":true},"insert":"Apocalypse"},{"insert":", meaning it might be a little tough to cast all our spells and activate Sisay -- but at least we have pain lands and Fertile Ground! All of Ramos' pieces are single-color mana rocks, which aren't great but can get us there and sacrifice for extra mana in a pinch. Hopefully, cards like Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist, Propaganda, and Dueling Grounds will slow the game down long enough for us to get all the mana we need, accumulate lots of legendary value, and beat our opponents up in the skies. We even have some relevant removal/interaction in Gerrard's Hourglass Pendant, Captain's Manever, Yawgmoth's Vile Offering, Hull Breach, and so on. \n\nI'm building a less narrow version of this deck in paper, with some members of the newer crew -- Raff, Jhoira, and Arvad all synergize quite well with Sisay -- but it was so much fun to build with a visual restriction! I hope this gives other aging Vorthos players some inspiration for their own lore lists.\n"}]}
