Which Bracket for Commander?

{"ops":[{"insert":"So I'm new to Commander, not necessarily MTG. My main question is which bracket plays the longest? I mean, for me to try and build a deck to only play a total of like 8 turns seems ludicrous to me. But I don't know since I haven't really played yet. Still building and waiting for my webcam to arrive to try SpellTable. So what bracket just lets you play to play, not focused on the length of turns? If it goes long, ok, if it's short ok... I'm a bit confused, I guess. And if I play with real people (Not my kids LOL, its anything goes there), what do I say to express just playing without making others not want to play because they are following some rules and such?\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"I think you will find bracket 2-3 game lengths vary widely by playgroup. For instance at my local LGS those brackets have a very low inclusion of interruption. This can lead to either long games due to clogged board states or short games because no one can stop the decks from \"doing the thing\" . The Salt like tourny for cEDH last May ( bracket 5) went 11 hours.. My point is that I don't think brackets are really the deciding factor in game length but rather the pod you play in is. Part of the bracket system is supposed to be turns before you present a win. Remember this doesn't necessarily mean the game ends in that many turns just that you don't generally expect it to end before that. 8 turns is also quite a long game depending on what actions are taken during a player's turn. If a player has a lot of triggers 10-15 minutes per turn isn't unusual for some decks, and multiply that by 4 and you can be talking 45 min - an hour between turns. I find bracket 3 to be sort of the freest format, allowed 3 game changers late game infinites allows the power level to get upped without any stomping.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"I’m very new to magic but my guess would be bracket 2! It’s a deck that has a theme somewhat but doesn’t have insane cards that are just game changing. The pre-constructed decks that you can buy in the stores are bracket 2!\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Ultimately bracket 1 is designed for play however you want. They tend to be the longest in my experience, but they also tend to be hard for the winner to stop winning.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"You can make games longer by playing control/stax. Azorius, Dimir, or Esper are good color combinations for this. You draw out the game by shutting down your opponents' board states to give you more time to build up your wincon. \n\n\n"}]}
