There'd likely need to be an option somewhere to disable this function if others found it obnoxious (or for non-commander).\n"}]}

Your first suggestion is almost guaranteed to happen at some point-- it's something that's been requested on a number of occasions and we feel would be a logical progression of the custom categories feature. Your second request is a new one to me but I definitely see its value. In chatting with Andy (our lead dev) about it, he thinks it's potentially doable and something we'll look into when we give custom categories a facelift. \n\nI appreciate you reaching out!\n"}]}
