Archidekt opinion and suggestions

{"ops":[{"insert":"So far I used a lot this site for deckbuilding. I find it well designed. However, there is some functionnalities that to me seems not used a lot. Like I don't use and don't see others use that much the deck description section. There is possibility to comment, follow and interact with others build, but I haven't seen that much use of that. I try when I can to interract on the forum and also leave a comment on others build. But, I think these features of the site could be more relevant. Maybe what could help is to add things to the home page. Like the mosts liked decks of the week, adding contributor badges levels, having a random daily deck feature, etc (just some ideas on the top of my head).\n\n I used the \"test your deck\" function a couple of time too. It gives a rough idea of how my decks go in a \"spellslinger mode\" but since there is no interractions with other decks it is ultimatelly not as much concluding for the deck performance. What I would like to see as a feature here is some playtesting against AI decks. I don't mid that it be the same 2-3 decks that do the same thing on each turn every time. But, at least some 1:1 playtesting against computer would be a nice improvement to this section of the site.\n\nA function to link directly to decks on the forum would be nice too.\n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Hi there! Thank you for the suggestions. I'll do my best to respond to each of them in order:\n\nSome of our social features related to deck building (comments, description, upvotes/downvotes, forum discussions, etc.) are definitely under-utilized. We've discussed a few different options for promoting each, such as a scroll for popular decks on the home page as you suggested. I believe it is likely that we'll get around to beefing up some of these social features in the future, but right now our priority is fine-tuning the deckbuilder to be smooth as possible. Frankly, until everything related to actually building a deck is somewhere we're totally comfortable with, it's difficult to justify extremely limited dev time being devoted to much else."},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"So an AI for the tester is going to be a hard no, unfortunately. Creating something along those lines be a monumental developmental undertaking. While we could far more easily create something that does the same thing each turn with 2-3 decks as you suggest, I think it would have extraordinarily limited utility when you consider different/changing formats and lack of meaningful interaction with the player. Furthermore, as one creates something that more closely simulates \"real\" Magic gameplay, you can run into all sorts of legal issues with Wizards. They do want people using MTGO and Arena, after all, not Archidekt for the features those programs offer. So while I think it would be super cool to have something like that on the site, for those reasons it definitely isn't going to happen. The tester is intended more to be a place where you can fishbowl and make sure the things you're trying to do with your deck are consistent over the expected number of turns. Obviously this is more useful to some decks than others, but I definitely feel there's some valuable functionality there. "},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"Could you elaborate more on what you're looking for here? Do you mean a button to click on your deck page to copy a shareable link, or some way of getting a link to your various decks from the forum interface itself?"},{"attributes":{"list":"ordered"},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nThank you for reaching out! \n"}]}

{"ops":[{"insert":"Hi, thanks for taking the time to address my recommandations! Regarding AI I didn't had any idea of the challenges it would require, so, interesting to know the ins and outs of what it would imply. For my part I used the Tester to fishbowl a couple times to get a good idea of how the deck performs and while it is many clicks, it do the job.\n\nAbout point 3 in your answer... I meant a way to link to decks when using the forum. As far as I know, to do that I need to copy/paste the page address in my browser. I would like if I could link to my decks or only click on someones link to access decklist more easily. So yes, maybe a shareable link could do it or a button in the text box of posts on the forums (besides the buttons to add images maybe).\n\nAnyhow, I think the devs did a great job with the design of Archidekt. Props to all your team!\n"}]}
