{"ops":[{"insert":"Derevi, Empyrial Tactician"},{"attributes":{"header":1},"insert":"\n"},{"insert":"\nThis has been my pet deck for a few years now. The decks main game-plan is to get a bunch of smaller creatures out to use to accrue value with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Derevi, Empyrial Tactician"}},{"insert":"'s untap ability. Many players will use this ability in a staxy fashion to tap other players stuff, but that's not how this deck wants to play. The name of the game here is to untap enough mana to lightly control the board. With that in mind, we run as many lands as we can that tap for multiple mana. All three of the bounce lands, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lotus Vale"}},{"insert":", as well as "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dowsing Dagger // Lost Vale"}},{"insert":", are included for this fact. Keep in mind that if we're untapping our lands then we cannot untap our creatures as well. For this reason we run "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Heliod, God of the Sun"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"True Conviction"}},{"insert":", both of which give us vigilance, or in the case of True Conviction we get double strike -- this allows us to untap the creature that swung as well as land. \n\nI'd classify this deck as a midrange deck that can be versatile enough to control the board, as well as swing for damage. While combat damage is the most common way to close out a game with this deck, we also can happen across a combo given the correct board state. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Deadeye Navigator"}},{"insert":" and Derevi go infinite on colored mana with anything that taps for three (colored) mana -- in this deck that's "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Gilded Lotus"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Lotus Vale"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dowsing Dagger // Lost Vale"}},{"insert":". This also allows the player to lock down everyone else's board by tapping their lands, creatures, etc, at instant speed. Keep in mind if they have any instant speed interactions this can be disrupted fairly quickly. This doesn't actually win you the game however since it doesn't kill anyone. \n\nThis combo can be paired with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Azami, Lady of Scrolls"}},{"insert":" to deck yourself if you need answers as well. Generally if I'm doing this with Azami, then I'll dig until I find "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Capsize"}},{"insert":". Once you have "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Capsize"}},{"insert":" in hand and infinite mana, you can bounce all enemy permanents (including lands). This almost always results in a scoop. If not you can easily dispatch the board given your remaining turns. \n\nEverything else in the deck is built to bring value to small creatures, specifically creatures that make contact. That's why almost every creature is evasive in some way or brings some value to others that do. \n"}]}
