{"ops":[{"insert":"\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNotes: \n\nUNFINISHED NOTES, WORK IN PROGRESS\n\n\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Lorien Revealed"},{"insert":"\n- Openeing Hand - when in opening hand, can be considered a Land, when deciding to keep or mulligan. Play a Land on T1, and use that mana to Cycle for an Island. \n\n- Cycling is instant speed - meaning early game, the mana can be held up for an early Swan Song or Offer That Can't Be Refused (e.g., to counter a T1 Sol Ring).\n\n- Mystic Sanctuary is an Island - later game, the Island typing on Mystic Sanctuary means this is also an instant-speed, un-counterable Tutor.\n\n- Draw 3 Cards - or if you need the cards, remember there is an option to just play it for its normal card-draw mode (lol).\n\n- Recurable with Kairie - if we are stuck without a Land drop mid-game, this is a Sorcery as so can be recurred with Kairie's second-mode, returning this card to hand and then immediately Cycled away for the Island Tutor effect. This can be done as many times as we have the cards/mana to copy Kairie.\n\n\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true},"insert":"MANA RAMP"},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Blinkmoth Nexsus + Inkmoth Nexsus"},{"insert":"\nThis deck is full of spell that make token-copies of Creatures. These Lands can be temporarily turned into a Creature, for the cost of 1-mana. While the Land is also a Creature, a copy-spell can be used to make a token-copy. This achieves Land-based ramp in mono-U.\n\nIt is noted that a token-copy of a Creature does not take on any current activated attributes. In this case, it means the token copy with come into play as just a Land (i.e., it will not be a Creature). This is advantageous to us, as it means the token-copy avoids summoning-sickness, so can be immediately tapped for mana.\n\nThe cost is generally 4-mana total. This includes 1-mana to activate the Land into a Creature; 4-mana for the copy spell; and the considering 1-mana that the new-token land can produce. This is not the greatest rate for ramp, and compared to G or W land-based ramp it is actually bad. But for Land-ramp in mono-U, it is comparable to cards like Wayfarers Bauble (which is 3-mana total to ramp out a single Land). \n\nThe real benefit is that this ramp doesn't take up any card slots. Every deck needs Lands, and the deck is already aiming at running 38-Lands minimum anyway, so these Lands each just replace an Island. Further, many copy-spells are already included in the deck, cloning effects being the primary strategy.\n\nNote regarding their imact on mana-production generally, these Land enter untapped, so do not slow down our play. They only produce colourless, but litterally every other Land in the deck is U-producer, so the slight decrease in the coloured-mana base is a acceptable.\n\nRhe only real impact is a slight-reduction in Islands affects High Tide; Retraced Image; and and Mitotic Manipulation. If you don't run these csrds, or dont mind the risk, it is noted that Mutavault and Mishra's Workshop also suit this strategy.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Mana Drain"},{"insert":" \n- Hard counter - can counter any spell-type.\n\n- Mana Ramp - the mana generated next turn can be a substantial momemt of mana ramp. While I try to reserve counter-magic for the truly important spells, it can be situationally wise to counter any high-mana spell, simply to get the ramp next turn. Early game, this could ramp Kairie out very early. Later game, it could give us enough mana to cast a game defining spell (like extra turn spell) and even hold enough mana open to counter the potential counterspell.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true},"insert":"COUNTER-MAGIC"},{"insert":"\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true},"insert":"REMOVAL & INTERACTION"},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Chain of Vapor"},{"insert":"\nThere is limited risk that someone will bounce Kairi in retaliation, as the ward cost of 3-mana (coupled with the land sacrifice demand) is a large deterrent.\n\n\n\n\n"},{"attributes":{"underline":true},"insert":"TUTORS"},{"insert":"\n\n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Intuition"},{"insert":" + "},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Gifts Ungiven"},{"insert":"\nBoth these cards share common advantages/disadvantages, and can be discussed simultaneously.\n\n- Unrestricted Tutors - both can find any card-type.\n\n- Cards into Graveyard - the Tutored cards are split between oir Hand and our Graveyard, at an opponent's discretion. Kairie's death-trigger allows for recursion of Instant and Sorcery cards, so these are the best cards to tutor., as we can always get the cards back we need. \n\n\nalthough usually we will be \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n"}]}
