Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"This deck is a little pet project of mine. Way back in the Time Spiral days, I got into MtG. Some friends of mine played on the long bus ride we had to get home, and from time to time I would play with them using their extra decks they had on hand. Eventually, I saved enough of an allowance to purchase my own starter deck. It was the Green and Black \"Fungus\" deck, full of Thalids and fun little mushroom men. While I was losing my mind over the sweet sweet shoots at the LGS , my mom who had accompanied me offered to get me two boosters to go with the deck. I was ecstatic! I cracked into those TSP packs as soon as we got in the car. I can still remember some of the cards I pulled, like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Flamecore Elemental"}},{"insert":" (not a particularly good card, but it immediately became one of my all time favourites), but what stood out to me were these funny little slug looking things. Slivers, they were called. Well the three I pulled, "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Basal Sliver"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Might Sliver"}},{"insert":", and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Quilled Sliver"}},{"insert":" immediately found a spot in my completely unsupportive Thalid deck, even to the point that I put a single Plains in to allow me to cast Quilled! I didn't play MtG very much after my friends went off to different schools than I, but a few years later I got back into it when a different friend revealed their immense interest in it. I dusted off the ol' Thalid deck, and had a blast, even if I did ultimately take out the Three Amigos.\n\nIt's now several years later, but I decided to do a little Sealed event with some friends the other week. Mystery Boosters seemed crazy fun. We managed to get to pack 4 when I stumbled across what I could only assume was the final sign from someone above. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Sliver Hivelord"}},{"insert":", front and center. Done deal, I'm making Sliver Tribal.\n\nSo here we are. This deck is not the most tuned a Sliver deck could be, by many margins, but it's designed to be fun and not as oppressive as it can be. Notably, I've gone for some of the weaker Slivers (I.e. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Battering Sliver"}},{"insert":" instead of "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Horned Sliver"}},{"insert":", in favor of being able to play a tribe I've desperately wanted to play for a long time (eventually I'll make elementals in honor of my boy Flamecore). The insightful among you might even realize that I've included my three original Slivers in the list, and they actually are the originals I pulled from packs almost 14 years ago.\n\nWin-cons as it stands are to flood out as many Slivers as possible, and make them effectively unblockable with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Shifting Sliver"}},{"insert":", or punish people for blocking or attacking with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Spiteful Sliver"}},{"insert":".
