{"ops":[{"insert":"This is a deck I have been modifying for a while. Originally I went hard in the direction of spell slinging and then hard in the direction of creatures that bounce damage and mass damage spells. The later could do sick damage and massive life gain but it just felt like a one-trick pony. It also didn’t feel like it would be fun in a game. So I blended it more with the original deck construction but threw in a few elements to provoke an attack. Then I added a few equipment elements and the deck really started to have a feel to it that I liked.\n\nThe deck has a few options for directions to go. One is the life gained from board wipes and having either the commander or radiant scrollwielder in play. Combine this with creatures like Boros Reckoner who take the damage that is dealt to them and deal it to another target (such as a player). This means star of extinction could gain you 200 life if there are ten targets are on the field and deals 40 damage to players (at 20 a pop) if I have two of these types of creatures in play when it goes off. So some massive potential for a sick turn. This is also why I have Treasonous Ogre. I can use my huge life total as a resource after setting off a board wipe. I also have Blazing Sunsteal because it can combo with some of these creatures for infinite damage. \n\n I am running various equipments that make a creature indestructible to survive the mass destruction. I don’t want things that prevent damage as that would negate the damage I could redirect. I also added Spellbinder and Sunforger for equipment options that keep spells coming. This works well with fighter class that allows me to fetch what I need. I also put in open the armory as once I get Sunforger in play, my commander can become an absolute force.\n\nI did drop Nythos Paragon because it just wasn't feeling like it was too cumbersome to get into play and trigger. I did keep Cradle of Vitality since it was lower on the mana curve and I could potentially add a huge number of counters from a life gain trigger to a creature.\n\nFor card advantage I have been going around and around on how that should look. I have incorporated Monarch cards to get additional draws that also provoke an attack to utilize my recoil creatures. They also can restock my creatures with Court of Grace and Skyline Despot. Well of Lost Dreams can draw a good number of cards and Dawn of Hope can when I gain life. I am not sure if these are the best routes yet and the rest are a bit of an odd mix. Trove of Temptation fits into that mix but generates treasure instead. Sunforger, ischron scepter, and spellbinder all give alternative methods of “card advantage.”\n\nI’ve added spells like rebuff the wicked and Wyll’s reversal to give me response options and take advantage of some of the color pair’s more obscure options. This combined with the attack encouraging and discouraging effects gives the deck a control feel. \n\nThe deck feels destructive but calculated. It both provokes and punishes attacks. It counters and deflects threats that target my permanents. It purges the battlefield in fire and gains a massive amount of life in doing so (provided my commander is in play). It also has an armory of tools to outfit my \"warriors\" so they can cast spells, fetch spells, and protect my creatures against the purges. It also has a few options to become a monarch, alllowing it to flood the battlefield with dragons and angles. A sort of righteous fury feel to it all.\n"}]}
