The real benefit of the card comes from how hard his cast triggers are to stop.\n \nMy idea for the deck is to lean on early looting and draws to throw away big creatures worth reanimating, I find that creatures that impact board presence and further the game plan are more valuable than just straight up beaters. With a good play you can reanimate some relevant creatures long before Sauron becomes an option making him a good nail in the coffin type cast or great as a recovery after a board wipe.\n \nYou may notice I kept the mana rocks to the 2 cmc variety, this is because I found that racing into Sauron early didn’t really need to happen. The deck works better if I can try to reanimate without Sauron earlier and benefit from the commander later on.\n \n"},{"attributes":{"bold":true},"insert":"Political Reception"},{"insert":"\nStill being quite new to the format, being the lesser (not by size) of the Sauron’s and being a precon commander lowers the hostility the deck will initially face.
