Fast forward a couple of years and I decided to get into paper, so came about this list as my first commander deck.\n\nThe list started out as a budget tri-bal reanimator restricted under legendary creatures. The deck worked good enough at the time and some might say it was pretty powerful. Unfortunately, as time passed, everyone's decks became much more powerful. Kaalia lagged behind, everyone was either faster or had far more value. She still won at times, but it was clear which decks were simply more powerful.\n\nI then updated the deck with some better legendary creatures that fell under the three creature types she cares about, some of the major creatures added in were "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Akroma, Angel of Wrath"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Aurelia, the Warleader"}},{"insert":". \n\nAt this point, I knew that there was no way around to making it get to the same level as the other decks in my pod. I decided to leave it in this sort of state. After all, I have a much higher range of power levels you could say, which does mean I can change things up on how we wanted to do things. This doesn't stop me from playing whatever I wanted though, you could consider me a wild card in our pod if anything.\n\nNow back to the deck. At this point, the goal is still to smack face. Considering that all the creatures are still under the restriction of being legendary, I added in some legendary support like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Heroes' Podium"}},{"insert":" and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Rising of the Day"}},{"insert":". I already had "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Relic of Legends"}},{"insert":" in the list and I found it to be pretty good considering Kaalia and some other creatures had vigilance, allowing me to keep up mana even if I was tapped out from lands. Most of the control pieces are decently cheap so you can still cast them with only a few mana up. Since we need to smack face, the creatures need to deal a lot of damage since the creatures will only be the cards, not really tokens or anything like that. Luckily most of the creatures have flying, so the deck just naturally has evasion to swing out. With the creatures being so high costed and being the tribes that they are, they also tend to have high power and toughness. \n\nThe deck is still somewhat of a reanimator. It is more like a subtheme at this point. The easiest way to put cards in the grave is the first Kaalia trigger since for the most part, you'll have a full grip on turn three if that is when you cast Kaalia. This means you discard to hand size and enable the reanimation. This can enable a faster start as you can also discard "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Unburial Rites"}},{"insert":" and cast it the next turn and reanimate whatever you discarded. The reanimation though is more to return creatures that died. \n\nOne of the best ways to get there is to mass reanimate with "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Primevals' Glorious Rebirth"}},{"insert":" and if you have haste enablers on the battlefield like "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Dragonlord Kolaghan"}},{"insert":", "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Gimli's Reckless Might"}},{"insert":", etc. it makes it all the more better.
