Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"I will slowly be adding to this \"primer\" as time goes on and I get motivated to add to it. Nothing amazing, but enough to explain the goal of the deck and the lines of play. \n\nCurrently in the process of adding more removal to the deck. Things I've tried and cut :\n\n -Gate to Phyrexia. Just felt too slow and never worked out when needed most. \n\n -Ravenous Chupacabra: Great card, but was cut in favor of Murderous Rider for the instant speed. Can also put itself back into the library to be tutored later. \n\n -Nim Deathmantle: Is basically a second Chainer for the combo turns, but in all my testing I've never needed to cast it. This just isn't the deck for it.\n\n -Massacre Girl: Great card, but just didn't have room for it and Massacre Wurm. It's a great budget option. \n\n -Mutilate: Cut in favor of Toxic Deluge. Mutilate is great in long games but this deck wants to win before turn 7.\n\nI've been working on this deck for years and it's my absolute favorite so I'm trying to get it as powerful as possible. It's currently set up to go all in on combo the first few turns, but if that fails I can pivot to playing the long game. Typically the goal is to race to playing Buried Alive and Chainer early to try to combo off turns 4-6. \n \nIf comboing off early fails, the deck can easily switch to the long game gaining value off cards like Liliana's Standard Bearer, Massacre Wurm, Solemn Simulacrum, Sheoldred, and Vilis. The tutors can be used to find cards you need for the current situation, or to go for a back up win con if the game allows for it. Currently the non combo win cons are demon beat down or Torment of Hailfire.\n\nWincons:\n\n-K'rrik opens up a lot of possibilities with Chainer. With both out, you can pay 9 life to reanimate a creature for no mana! The main win con is playing Buried Alive getting K'rrik, Grey Merchant, and Viscera Seer. From here (assuming a full pod of players) you only need 3 black mana and at least 22 life. You use the 3 black mana and 3 life (now have 19 life) to reanimate K'rrik. Then you pay 9 life (down to 10) to reanimate Gary or the Seer. Reanimating Gary first is safer if you're opponents have instant speed life loss or damage. If you reanimate the Seer first you can then pay 9 more life bringing you down to 1 to reanimate Gary. With only them on the field you drain everyone for 8, gaining 24 life. Sacrifice Gary and do it again! This can be done 1v1 but you're losing 1 life every loop, so it's best not to do this under 30 life. \n\n-Loop Grey Merchant \n\n-Chainer can also be used in a normal aristocrat combo. With Phyrexian Altar out, you can use either Abhorrent Overlord or Grave Titan to generate enough mana to pay for Chainers ability. Add either Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat to the combo and you also not only gain the life back to pay Chainers ability, but also drain out your opponents. Nim Deathmantle can be used in place of Chainer so long as you have Ashnods Altar instead of Phyrexian. The Nim Deathmantle combo can use Woe Strider as well for infinite life drain, although you won't get infinite mana. \n\n-A giant Torment of Hailfire \n\nGood Synergies: \n\nFinal Parting getting Reanimate and Vilis. Vilas to graveyard, reanimate to hand. Reanimate Vilis to lose 8 and draw 8 cards. \n\nLiliana's Standars Bearer was a surprising addition to the deck, used purely for it's synergy of being looped out of the graveyard. Sacrificing it and bringing it back will net 1 additional card each time allowing you to draw a lot of cards if needed. \n\nNecropotance has an interesting synergy due to the fact that the exile clause is not a replacement effect. You can discard a card (in the clean up step for example) which will put the exile ability into the stack, allowing you to respond with Chainer's ability. \n\n\n"}]}
