{"ops":[{"insert":"Bracket 4.5: Highly optimized and not to be played in a casual environment, but off meta from cEDH.\n\nAnimar's Oops All Creatures is a fast deck designed to combo out and abuse the angry landmass to go infinite. The entire strategy is focused around Animar itself, using the fact that it's pro white and black to evade most early game removal, then rapid fire out creatures to make Animar bigger, which in turn makes all the creatures cheaper. Since every non-land card in the deck is a creature, every spell triggers Animar. Plus the lack of non-creature spells lets the deck flat out ignore widely played counterspells like Force of Negation, Swansong, and Fierce Guardianship. While the strategy is very consistent and gets around most interactions, it is not impervious to disruption. The biggest weaknesses are board wipes the turn Animar is played, fast damage spells like Lightning Bolt, and blue removal spells like Pongify, Rapid Hybridization, and 2 mana Cyclonic Rift.\n\n The typical lines are either find an infinite loop of creatures entering and have either Agate Instigator or Purphoros, God of the Forge in play; use Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker to make infinite hasty copies of Pestermite or Deceiver Exarch; make Animar so big that he can make a Walking Balista big enough to kill; or get down Herald of Secret Streams or Duskshell Crawler and make Animar big enough for a leathal swing.\n\nTo get to an infinite the deck usually goes for one of the bigger Urza block land untap creatures (Peregrine Drake, Great Whale, or Palenchron) paired with Deadeye Navigator or Temur Sabertooth. This nets infinite mana and infinite creature ETB triggers, which wins with either Instigator or Purphoros to damage the other players out, or with Beast Whisperer, Soul of the Harvest, or Primordial Sage to draw out the library and find the win cons. Vizier of the Menagerie has a surprise combo with Grinning Ignus to net infinite mana (Vizier's ability to let you spend mana of any color to cast creature spells filters the excess colorless mana Ignus generates to recast Ignus, then use the red generated by Ignus to active Ignus's self bounce to generate more mana). And then Ancestral Statue simply goes infinite with just Animar if Animar has 3+ counters on it.\n\nThe most confusing combo is the touch of death that starts with Animar having 2 or more counters on it, then casting Imperial Recruiter. Recruiter fetches Phyrexian Metamorph, which copies Recruiter to fetch Kiri-Onna. Since Recruiter is 2R, Animar with 2 counters makes his cost just R. Then Metamorph at 3U(Phyrexian) turns into just a Phyrexian Blue, IE 2 life. Both of those bring Animar up to 4 counters, which makes Kiri-Onna cost only U. So at this point we've only spent UR and 2 life. Kiri-Onna on ETB bounces a creature, in this combo it's Metamorph. Replay Metamorph copying Onna, bouncing Onna. Replay Onna targeting Recruiter. Onna's second effect is she bounces herself whenever you cast a spirit spell. So Metamorph, currently a copy of Onna, sees Onna being played and bounces itself. Now we have Onna in play, Metamorph and Recruiter in hand, and have spent RUU and 4life. Now we recast Recruiter, fetching Peregrine Drake. Cast Drake to untap lands to stabilize the loop. We've spent RRUUU and 4 life and now can loop Metamorph/Onna to keep bouncing Drake and Recruiter to keep tutoring out 2 power creatures from the deck, losing 2 life each loop. Since Beast Whisperer is a 2 power creature, we can grab him to start drawing into another combo that doesn't require life loss to sustain. While this combo does require RRUUU to pull off, it only needs the Recruiter to start. Plus the only card that is needed that isn't already a staple for the deck is Kiri-Onna, meaning the combo doesn't have a high cost in deck construction.\n\nThe rest of the deck is mostly there to enable or extend these combos. Early game draw like Elvish Visionary and Wall of Blossoms exist to give Animar a counter and replace themselves in hand. Fblthp, the Lost fills a similar role, but also might give a bonus card if hit by Vizier of the Menagerie, Augur of Autumn, or Maelstrom Wanderer. Meanwhile Hydroid Krasis, Mull Drifter, Null Drifter, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, and Dragonhawk give more late combo draw. Radagast the Brown puts in work filtering through the top deck, while Augur of Autumn turns the top card into a bonus card in hand. Defiler of Dreams pulls double duty, both allowing us to cast our 1 pip blue creatures effectively for free while also drawing us cards.\n\nNext are all the mana dorks to fill out the first turn or two to help ramp into the combos. 1 mana dorks like Birds of Paradise, the 3 G tap for G elves, and Delighted Halfling are MVPs of the opening hand. Beastcaller Savant and Nikya of the Old Ways are super effective, since the deck doesn't have any of the cards they can't cast. Bloom Tender is insane value in a three color deck, Rattleclaw Mystic can be morphed in for free using Animar, Lotus Cobra is just a value engine, Fanatic of Rhonas is insanely easy to trigger, and Biophagus lets me get a head start on Animar's +1/+1 counters. Wood Elves are a shockingly effective card, being able to tutor out any forest and put it into play natural. This means I can fetch one of my dual lands or shock lands and have them come into play untapped, and thanks to Animar the elves only cost 1 mana, so they not only pay for themselves but let me filter G into either R or U. Herigast, Erupting Nullkite gives all our creatures emerge, meaning we can now play Yugioh and sacrifice out creatures to play yet more creatures. Lastly we have the two spirit guides. With a god opening hand we can exile both of them to get Animar out turn 1. \n\nTo round things out we have a removal package in Haywire Mite, both Ulamogs, and Duplicant.
