Description

{"ops":[{"insert":"How far would you go to ensure survival?\n\nWould you knowingly commit evil acts? Or would you slip away and cower from your duty? Would this make you good?\n\nThis deck looks at what it means to be evil and what could excuse that kind of thinking. This feels like an essay, and that's kinda the route I wanna take with it.\n\nBob joined for the benefits. He joined an evil organization but doesn't believe in its goal, or at least its methods. He runs away from the most crucial moment a man of his stature could encounter. This is what he was hired to do, but he defects. Does this redeem him? Is he irredeemable so long as he stays employed at HYDRA?\n\nEven his effect lends itself to this. The greatest risk of attacking in combat is dying. And the risk for attacking one player is creating rifts in your relation with them. Bob circumvents both of these issues. He cannot die to combat damage (provided he attacks alone) because he returns to your hand before blockers are assigned, and he deals damage to each opponent without the option to choose or divide it differently so no player feels targeted, spared, or ignored. He runs from the drawbacks of his evil acts (attacking) just like he runs from the dangers of his function as a goon. Is this selfish? Survival? Gaming the system? Sabotage? Fear of death? Or simple cowardice? Only Bob may know. And maybe even he doesn't.\n\nThere's a lot to unpack here, and making this deck will be very fun.\n"}]}
