Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"# Quandrix Unlimited — $300 Baller Upgrade\n\nTurn the table's turns into resources. This Zimone, Infinite Analyst build adds repeated untaps, broader flash access, counter preservation and decisive finishes while keeping Quandrix's X-spell-and-counter identity. The upgrades aim to make the engine more capable without turning the deck into a cEDH list.\n\n**Upgrade package:** 37 additions / $299.53 at September 24, 2026 selected nonfoil reference prices. This is the cost of additions to an owned precon, excluding the precon, tax and shipping. The complete deck has 100 cards, including Zimone, and 37 lands.\n\n## Opening hands\n\nPrioritize mana and colors over expensive engines. Look for three lands, early ramp, and either a useful X spell or protection. Birds of Paradise, Llanowar Elves, Wild Growth, Utopia Sprawl and land ramp help get started. Breeding Pool supports both colors and Forest-based ramp; it is not a reason to keep a hand that otherwise does nothing early.\n\n## Game plan\n\n1. Establish Zimone and a counter base while developing mana.\n2. Add Seedborn Muse to untap your permanents during each other player's untap step. High Fae Trickster lets that mana support your whole hand at instant speed.\n3. Use one worthwhile X spell on each turn when the opportunity is useful. Keep interaction available instead of spending mana just because it untapped.\n4. Refill, preserve your counters through disruption, and choose a finishing window.\n\n## Important packages\n\n- **Seedborn Muse + High Fae Trickster:** repeated mana access and flexible casting across the turn cycle. Protect these pieces before planning around all three opponents' turns.\n- **Branching Evolution + The Earth Crystal:** amplify counter placement. Terrasymbiosis can turn a large counter event into cards once each turn; you may decline a small event to save that draw opportunity.\n- **The Ozolith + Broodguard Elite:** when Elite leaves, its trigger can put a matching set of counters on a creature, while Ozolith also receives a set. Ozolith can redistribute its counters at the beginning of your combat. This is counter value and recovery, not an automatic infinite combo.\n- **Wan Shi Tong / Sporocyst:** turn X into cards or basic lands. Wan Shi Tong already has flash; Sporocyst's searched basics enter tapped.\n- **March of Swirling Mist / Heroic Intervention / Tyrant Guard:** complementary protection. Indestructible does not answer every kind of removal; phasing covers important cases it cannot.\n\n## Closing the game\n\nFinale of Devastation at X=10 or more gives your creatures a major power boost and haste. Nev supplies trample to your creatures with counters. An overloaded Cyclonic Rift can open the attack by returning opponents' nonland permanents.\n\nMathemagics can refill your hand or force an opponent to draw more cards than remain in their library, unless another effect changes that outcome. Agree on that finishing plan with your table. When drawing for yourself, count your library first: X=5 means 32 cards.\n\n## Rules and sequencing\n\n- Zimone discounts the first X spell each turn; she does not grant flash or reduce colored requirements.\n- Her cast-trigger counters do not pay for the spell that triggered them.\n- Count all X symbols in Mathemagics and Sporocyst before applying discounts.\n- A creature found by Finale of Devastation does not inherit Finale's chosen X.\n- The Ozolith preserves counter value when a creature leaves; it does not save that creature. Phasing does not make a creature leave the battlefield.\n\n## If you already own Budget\n\nKeep 16 Budget additions. Syncopate, Final-Word Phantom and Arbor Elf leave; the Baller list adds 21 different purchases totaling $282.45 at the reference prices.\n\nBuying the $19.70 Budget package first and those 21 cards later costs $302.15 across both stages, before tax and shipping. The finished Baller package itself totals $299.53 because three earlier purchases are no longer in the deck. No resale proceeds are assumed.\n\n## Table fit and weaknesses\n\nExpect explosive turns and substantial interaction. Tell your group about the repeated-untap engine, overloaded Rift, large Finale turns and optional draw-out finish. Repeated commander removal and loss of the untap/flash package can still interrupt the plan. This primer makes no claim of recorded multiplayer win rates or a certified power bracket.\n\n## References\n\n- [Official stock decklists](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/secrets-of-strixhaven-commander-decklists)\n- [Zimone rules](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/secrets-of-strixhaven-release-notes)\n- [Broodguard Elite and The Ozolith interaction](https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/edge-of-eternities-release-notes)\n\nBuilt for Arcane Arena's Budget vs Baller upgrade series.\n\n"}]}
