Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"The Nazgul have two main weaknesses in Commander. First, they can be killed. And second, you can only have nine in your deck of a hundred cards, which means you're likely to only draw one or two. This deck intends to fix both of those weaknesses. Reyhan works to provide insurance against your Nazgul being killed. When one dies, you can put its counters on another creature you control, which preserves a significant part of their power, and Sakashima works to make more Nazgul.\nEverything else is built around this premise. Since the Nazgul put one +1/+1 counter on each creature at a time, adding 1 to that doubles it, no matter how many triggers you have going off. So Hardened Scales-like effects are great here. I have five cards that preserve your Nazgul through boardwipes, which is very important here - you can survive *most* of your Nazgul being killed due to Reyhan then going to voltron-mode (probably with your Ringbearer Wraith), but if all of them die, then all the counters vanish. So we do our best to prevent that. There are a lot of clones even outside of Sakashima, because nine Nazgul just aren't enough. (Why didn't Sauron make more Rings of Men and therefore Ringwraiths, anyways?) We have the classic ramp/draw/interaction package - noteworthy here are the Greater Good and the Tom, Bert, and William. This provides an instant-speed sac outlet so you can put all your counters on a single unblocked Nazgul and kill someone, as well as drawing a huge number of cards if you have a bunch of triggers from your Nazgul.\nI want to highlight a specific card - Bloodbound March. This thing is, frankly, absurd. Once you have two or three Nazgul in your graveyard, you can get them all back with one Nazgul cast. (This is the only reason I'm running Buried Alive, because it's just that good.) Dropping four Nazgul on an unsuspecting pod is a great way of winning games - four Nazgul dropping onto an otherwise-empty board all at once gives you four 17/18s, which should be able to kill people in short order. It also works great with the sac outlets - kill your Nazgul to draw a bunch of cards, discard a few to that effect, then cast one Nazgul and get all of them back just as they were before. (Not even, 'cause now there's more Nazgul around all at once, so they get even bigger.) Do this after combat to get pseudo-vigilance as well, because why not? Of course, that's best-case scenario, but it's still pretty damn good.\nRoaming Throne makes the cut when the other ETB-trigger-doublers (Panharmonicon, Yarok, Starfield Vocalist) don't, because it double-dips. Nazgul enters, the Ring tempts you twice. Each Nazgul you control see the Ring tempting you, then triggers a total of four times. (Oh, and it's a Wraith itself, which means it also gets huge from all this happening.) \n"}]}
