Description
{"ops":[{"insert":"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcj3XmD8YaM\n\nHeroes Never Die... Except when they do. All the Time. Actually, now that I think about it, Heroes die and get brought back all the time. This has been a common staple in both Marvel and DC, as well as Disney's MCU, where Black Widow was sacrificed to obtain the last infinity stone. However, this history goes back before Magic had ever existed. On November 1, 1963, Marvel Comics released SGT FURY AND HIS HOWLING COMMANDOS #4, a tale written by Jack Kirby which featured how he processed his own experiences in the war. Notably however, this was the first time that a hero (or a major character) died in Marvel history. The deceased, John \"Junior\" Juniper, nicknamed Juniper was an ivy league scholar who was killed in action during a raid. This was the first real death of a main character in early marvel history, and cemented a legacy where, when a hero would die, the death would have to matter.\n\nThis deck is made to honor that tradition, while still remaining in low bracket two. Early game it plays aggressive, get in with smaller heroes. When they die, they come back a little different, as 2/2 zombie heroes to continue their legacy as heroes, fighting the good fight against evil. The Commander, Junior... I mean Ratadrabik synergizes with all the legendary heroes, allowing for a goofy reanimator playstyle. Further, he's orzhov aligned, which allows for a pseudo-meta commentary about how heroism often leads to black and white narratives where complexity is often boiled down to good guy punches bad guy until bad guy gives up.\n\nRIP Jack Kirby, you may have died, but your heroes never will.\n"}]}
